How do you remove the fuel pump unit on a 95 vw passat?RJBJR 11-27-2006, 11:05 PM I removed the upper component of the fuel pump on a 95 vw passat but the pump itself does not want to come out of the bracket inside the fuel tank. It wiggles around a little inside the bracket and feels like it will pull out but doesn't. Does anyone know if there is anything special that is holding the pump in the bracket or if there are any tricks to removing the fuel pump from the bracket? porscheman9101 11-27-2006, 11:20 PM chances are there is a fuel return line connected to the pump module, lift up the pump as high as possible (not too much) get a flash light and look under the pump assembly you should find the line / hose. good luck. Trust me I scratched my head over this with my 95 GLX mattculley 05-16-2007, 07:06 PM Hi,just took one out.previous post was correct,1/4 ccw turn will do it.It is a tight fit but it will come out of the round hole.Keep it upright and dont tilt it or gas will run out.
