CRX d16z6/d16a6 swap distibutor/timing help

Okay I just bought a CRX with the mini me swap. The car has a clean swap with correct ecu jumper harness. Heres my dilemma. If the car has the D16z6 head on it, do i need the D16z6 distributor because the car will run but will kick in the rev limiter at 3grand. I toyed with the distributor and tried to center it but everytime i did the car would only reach 4grand once i floored it. Then I returned the distributor to the position that it was before which was pushed forward but had the same problem again the rev limiter kicks in a 3grand and i loose power. help please

if you are just running an ECU jumper harness then you still need to use the OBD0 disty. your best bet might be to just get a PR3 ECU and keep it OBD0 and run the wires for vtec and such to the ECU.

the head on the car is D16z6 obd1 and the ecu im using is p28 so i have to use a distibutor of a d16z6 cuz the distributor should match the head. the harness goes from obd0 to obd1.......?????
