88 Cherokee EGR Valve Removalpearlheartgtr 11-26-2006, 06:26 PM Hey all! I have a 88 Cherokee 4.0L 4x4 and I need to get the EGR valve off. It seems almost impossible. I can't get in there with even the smallest torx driver (1/4 inch). Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the valve off? The problem I am having is that it stalls or bogs down when I turn or apply the brake. I've changed the O2 sensor (that was an adventure in of itself), the brake booster, and the IAC valve. It seems fine for a few hours then the stalling starts again. :banghead: The last thing I can think of is the EGR valve. But before I spend $80 on that, I want to take it off and try cleaning it out. Thanks for any info you might have. Thanks!
