Hey, My fiberglass front bumper is cracking and breaking up where its bolted onto the car. I guess the impact from hitting the ground put strain on the bolted areas.I'm thinking about buying the 97-99 factory front bumper, maybe adding a lip or somethang to it kinda like that guy "Spyder" (I think it was him). I think it'll look better than the Drift front bumber that I Have on my car now. I plan on doing an "1 1/2 to "2 drop on the car in the spring. I know the Fiberglass bumper wont last me to long once the car is lowered. How does the factory bumper stand up towards impacts.??

A lot better than any fiberglass one ever would. The OEM bumpers are more of a rubberized material instead.

My car is pretty low and it scrapes on a lot of stuff and the front bumber is still in awesome condition....

+1 for Factory... my '97 would get dented and pop itself back in... (cept the rear one, on the driver's side... but a little time and I coulda fixed that)...

Yes, the stock is much stronger than fiberglass. It is made of polyurethane, and bends when it's hit instead of cracking like fiber.

You can't beat OEM quality. I got hit in the parking lot in my Spyder by an F150...nothing major, the guy kind of coasted in to the rear bumper at a few mph, but the bang was pretty loud. I was expecting chaos...and instead, I couldnt even find a scratch on there! The whole thing just flexed. I also love urethane, but that gets a little tricky and starts bending in the sun and high temperatures. Also, painting urethane is a pita...I had a $250 paint job on just that tiny little lip of mine with special flex agent...it started peeling after 9 months.

I just got a '99 3000GT OEM front bumper for my GT. I'm going to try to have it retrofitted onto my car while still retaining the pop-ups. Godspeed to me!
