1990 caravan se manual window crank

I didnt know my own strength.:)

The hand crank stuck and I forced it. Now it just spins and doesn't open or close window. Can anybody tell me how to remove the door panel and remove the assembly to repair the hand crank inside. I've got the bottom of the panel off, but it is still connected on the top and I can't get it off. The window is up right now, do I need to open the window to remove the door panel. The hand crank assembly looks like it is riveted in the door. Do I have to take the whole assembly out or can I just replace the stripped gear somehow.
