There is a guy that I work with that has a 02 or 03 Duramax and he thinks he can run with my truck. It's quad cab, long bed, 4wd and is completly stock. My truck has a 5.7L, k&n intake, true dual exhaust, rcsb, 2wd. I was just wondering what you guys throught the outcome of the race would be. I'm pretty sure I can beat him but I was just wondering how close you guys believe it will be?

well, that duramax is a 6.6 litre turbo-deisel engine....and it has some go to it.....on the good side for you, his truck has a "1" motor, meaning he is more prone to injector problems, and fuel filter housings being bad. this can make his truck slower....but if his truck has none of these problems, then i would say run him and hope for the best. he has the bigger engine....you have less weight. will really be a race to see who gets to 96-99mph quickest as both of these trucks should not go over 99mph. don't kill anyone, and let us know who wins!

I hate to say it, but I think the Duramax may take you in the short run, but you have a good chance to catch up in 2nd or 3rd gear.

I know this is an old post but I never gave a reply to what happened. Me and him raced, both got off the line good. At the end of my 1st gear he was at my door and then through out 2nd gear I kept pullin away from him and by about 80 I had a pretty good lead on him.
