She was riding fine that morning. Come out of the grocery store and she just would not start. The next morning sprayed some start engine/and she started right up, but cut out after about a 1/2 min or so. Is this truely my fuel pump or could there be something else? Will they just go like that with no warning? Single mom in distress!!!!!!!

It could be bad gas add a bottle of dry gas or injector cleaner and see what happens. It may be electrical short in one of the engine harness.

What engine? How many miles on it?

There was nothing else. No warning, No indication that something was wrong. On Friday morning, I filled up as I always do. Went to work, came home. Saturday, went to work, came home, went to the grocery store, had to catch a cab home. What happen you think?

You dont see too much info on the 1998+ 2.2L (daewoo engine). For a quick fuel pump check, can you hear the fuel pump running with the key on? Either way, fuel press will have to be checked at the fuel rail. Codes will need to be scanned for, etc.. It's just guessing at this point.

could be something as easy as a plugged fuel filter. When was it last changed?

you are just going to have to start methodically diagnosing, or have it done. check for fuel pressure (filters rarely if ever all of a sudden clog up so bad you can't even start, but...), fp operation, etc. it's about impossible to predict each step from here.

because of its sudden nature, one would guess it's the pump or its wiring or its connectors, or of course a relay.

good luck, please let us know...

I have an 02 Trooper 3.5L with 115,000 mi. that has done the same thing for my daughter. The fuses are fine but no fuel to the filter and no sound from the pump so I dropped the tank and replaced the fuel pump. No luck. still no fuel to the filter and no sound from the pump. Can anyone tell me where to start in the wiring? I'm going to drop the tank again tomorrow night and check the voltage but any short cuts to trouble shoot this would be greatly appreciated. Is there a fuel pump cutoff switch somewhere?
