I'm going to take it apart and check the timing chain I think that could be the problem. but I dont know why it wont turn when i crank it it wont give a complete turn and the baterie would die in like 6 to 10 tries flatlander757 11-15-2006, 10:44 PM Do you have suffiecient voltage getting to the starter? Does it have good grounds? Do you have a good battery with decent CCA(cold cranking amps) to turn it over? I'd recommend 700+. 454Chevy 11-15-2006, 11:37 PM Do you have suffiecient voltage getting to the starter? Does it have good grounds? Do you have a good battery with decent CCA(cold cranking amps) to turn it over? I'd recommend 700+. I am using the same battery that I turn it on with before the only way it would turn is if I put two batteries to make 24 volts and the cca on the battery is 840. The problem would be the ground I only have one wire going to the block I will put one going to another place thank you randy78 11-20-2006, 04:07 PM it wont start, or wont crank fast enough to start, or ? whats is the exact symptom ? if its not cranking fast enoguh then it can be alot of things including initial timing set too far advanced, bad cable or connection somewhere, bad starter, bad battery, etc vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
