Hey everyone, I've put my 89 240 hatch project on hold and I'm now looking at a newer, more reliable car to work on. So I found a 95 240sx near my area and I'm really not sure if its an S14 or a US 240sx. Its all stock with NO mods, and the ad says its a 240sx, but it has the red and white "S" shield emblem on the hood and a silvia spoiler. Theres no back end pics of the car so I cant see any silvia tail lights. The dealership selling it is very small town, and the ad states its a 2.2L, are they selling a S14 and not knowing it? lol. I'm fairly new to S14 specs so I cant identify it very well. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Probably a 240sx, some dealers list down weird things lol.. car might be modified to look like an s14. Check it out, might be an s14 lol

1990~1994 S13,RPS13* SR20DET(japan)= (US) 240sx KA24E, DE
1995~1998 S14 SR20DET(japan)= (US) 240sx KA24DE
1999~200+ S15 SR20DET(japan)= (US) N/A

* the hatch was RPS13 the coupe was S13 not suer whe they stoped making the S15 or when the S13 was last made but u get the point.

the only way to know for sue what ur buying is to open the hood!

s14 is the chassis number. it doesnt matter if the car is JDM or USDM, if it is the newer body style (1995 - 1998), its an s14. your car is an s13. the dealership is obviously mistaken because a 2.2 was never offered in the s14, although it could be a stroked SR or a destroked KA, which is highly unlikely.

the steering wheel is on the left side therefore its just a usdm stock s14 with silvia badges. RICE much.. and the dealership made a mistake. they do that with these cars. i've even seen one with a v6. and no it wasn't a vq.

I was 17 when I bought that civic and it was my first car, (4 years ago) I cant help it that I was uneducated in the world of clean cars and anti-rice, besides, why do you think I'm looking for a more serious car? I've learned that civics arent fast or worth modding, the hard way :banghead: haha. My 240 is clean and has nothing modded but suspension and exhaust. Anyway, the dealer e-mailed me back and said that the car is USDM and just has the silvia badge on there. :disappoin

Civics are worth modding and can be fucking fast, it's just you put every wrong part on urs. No wwhat kind of exhaust and suspension do you have? APC fart can and cut springs? :rofl:

No, I did my research and bought the Buddy Club Spec II cat back. And I have never cut a damn spring in my life. I shopped around on Andysautosport and bought some sprint springs and tokico shocks, which are working for me just fine. I have posted comments, some help here and there, and questions from time to time on AF but I think this will be my last, after reading alot of the Nissan forums/posts, there seems to be a negative tude in the air. Oh well, thanks for the info you gave me, sorry there were no pics.
