2004 Beetle 30k MaintenanceMikefc626 11-13-2006, 02:46 PM My wife's beetle is right at 30000 miles, and needs to be serviced. However, for this service the people here are charging around $130, and based on my Audi service from there, I am not interesting in paying them that much for their "wonderful" service. Therefore I am going to try to do what I can myself (I at least know how to change the oil, something they are charging $60+ for). Unfortunately, I do not have the maintenance book handy to ask advice for what needs to be done other than the oil, but I was hoping I could get some input into maybe some general maintenance guidelines to follow at 30k miles. A couple of other things that I know need to be looked at just from riding with her are: 1) it hasn't done it much, but sometimes it doesn't want to crank (it's not like it just won't turn over or anything, rather the only things that come on are the electrical displays, but after a few tries it will start fine), and 2) when the car turns it makes a kind of groaning noise. Thanks in advance for your help :) . -Michael vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
