Hey guys...I'm looking at buying a 96 civic hx and don't know a whole lot about the vtec-e. Are these engines reliable??? anything to look for when purchasing it?

What's your ideas on the civic hx and their vtec-e?

Thanks guys!

The VTEC-E is just as reliable as every other Honda engine. The added advantage is that you can get about 35 mpg in the city, and over 40 mpg on the highway. But don't buy one with an automatic transmission, it's a CVT - not a traditional gear-type trans. Be sure to get one with a manual trans instead.
