Ok, I bought this 98 Rodeo 3.2 from a guy at work for $1500. He didn't want to deal with it. It has a bad eng knock at Idle and all rpm's.
It has 110,000 miles.

When I tore her apart everything looked fine. I went ahead and changed everything.

So I changed the water pump, tensioner pulley, tensioner, timing belt, serpentine belt.

I started her up and same thing. Knocking sound at Idle and all rpm's.

I'm thinking a spun bearing or EGR.

Which way should I go????

If you have not addressed the bottom end yet, he probably ran it low on oil and you have a cooked #1 bearing. Pull the oil pan and look for shavings.

Well I removed the oil pan and found metal shavings and a spun # 1 rod bearing.

What would cause the # 1 bearing to spin? all the other bearings are fine.

Low oil from the previous owner???

Looks like I need to get the crank turned down and new bearing.

Does anybody know were I can get a 1998 factory shop manual? I already have a haynes manual.

I just got back with the machine shop guys they are saying the engine is shot. The block is cracked.

So now I'm looking for a long block for a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 Manual transmission, 4X4

Any ideas were I can get one??? I live in Ogden, Utah
