could running the wrong plugs in an 02 rodeo break anything?oo4playmrright 11-09-2006, 08:07 PM so my neighbors rodeo was running rough, almost everything was changed except the plugs(they looked oem with over 80k on them) so since it was sunday i went up to the local auto store and bought some $7 a pop ngks(they didn't have denso's) put them in and cranked it up to make sure everything was ok. the next day it threw a check engine light but seemed to run ok so i said i'd look at it whenever she's home when the sun's out. within a week the car dies on her. well i'm out of town and told her i'd look at it friday when i get back. i searched here and it sorta sounded like a p0101 code for amm/leaky intake gasket so i told her if she can to run to autozone to get the codes checked. then two friends help her and say the ignition solenoid is shot, since i didn't find anything on here about that i'm hoping it's just the wrong plugs screwing with the comp, or could something else be wrong. sorry i can't help more, over the phone diagnosis ya know amigo-2k 11-09-2006, 08:41 PM need the codes to know what is going on for sure. the wrong plugs won't kill the truck but may toss a miss fire code. oo4playmrright 11-09-2006, 09:15 PM ok, so the car's a 2001, they got it running and took it up to get these codes cleared: b1299 p1125 p0300 and then it wouldn't start and they had to tow it home. gonna search for those codes now but any info is welcome surferfletch 11-09-2006, 10:01 PM 0300 is multiple cylinder misfire - plugs could cause that... Gizmo42 11-09-2006, 10:14 PM I think I found the problem. The coil pack for #6 cylinder (next to the brake booster) is different then the rest and you probably put it in the wrong place. From planetisuzoo.. When I put the Mightys back in I must have put that oddball coilpack in the wrong position.:oops:It still gave me P0300 plus P1125 & P1299. Densos, K&N Air & Oil filters, seafoam (for oil), & Lucas for gas tank (on the recommendation of my friendly neighborhood Autozone). Put all that in, put oddball coilpack in the right place and the car almost runs like new. HERE (http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/viewtopic.php?t=5642&highlight=300+misfire) is the thread that was in. P1125 = Electronic Throttle Control - Limit Performance Mode P1299 = Electronic Throttle Control - Forced Engine Shutdown Mode P0300 = Random/Multiple Misfire EDIT: Forgot to mention that #6 coil pack is shorter then the rest, thats why its an oddball. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
