Hello,

I disagree, the GT is an evolution, it is not the first true GTR. GTR95 won LeMans, not GTR97 :(

The GT would be cool, as would be 01R, i think more people would go for the GT as it is a rarer model (in all scales ) and 01R is readily available in 1:18th and 1:43rd scale :)

Id personally opt for a Black GT :D

Yes same one - at over US$1600 - and everytime the site is mentioned all of the experts here shout that the model is sold out. :banghead:

Peloton25

"Sold out" from the original distributor is certainly an accurate statement. Some of them went to different shops or diecast distributors and they may still have one or more available, but at that price... :uhoh:

Sorry but is any model worth that much, it's a good chunk towards something you can drive.I was at the bookstore today and decided to leaf through a Robb Report Christmas edition or some such nonsense...full of incredibly expensive, pointless, overpriced baubles. It had a Koenigsegg CCX in it, so it wasn't complete nonsense, though. Anyways, there's some fellow who makes detailed 22-inch replicas of your car out of plated silver, gold, etc. He took 2 1/2 years to finish an Aston Martin Vantage Volante for an owner. It cost over $2 million dollars!!!

The wife had it made as a present, and supposedly the owner, upon receiving it, was restrained but did say that he was impressed. Personally, I feel the owner felt pressured to say something complimentary, poor fellow.

I can't help but wonder at the sheer stupidity of the wife in making such a gesture. It doesn't matter how much money they had...that model was just so incredibly pointless and wasteful. You could buy a real McLaren with it. You could buy a couple of Lambos or any number of gorgeous Ferraris...and still have tons left over.

I am not saying that the money should have been given to charity or something, a view often expressed by those who are not "into" cars...simply that paying this much was really, really poor value, and quite pointless. Even if you don't get a real car (or mansion or racehorse) for that kind of money, you can get rolling, steerable, suspended models, working miniature engines, moving parts, all sorts of cool things--for several orders of magnitude less. This was a just a lump, regardless of how much effort went into shaping it with such exactness.

If it's ever put up for sale, I hope that Prince Jeffri is made aware. Otherwise, the market will be very, very cruel in pricing it.

It would be cool to take a white one and put the FINA livery on it. I don't have the skills or patience to attempt such a feat, but there are people out there would could pull it off.

I could probably manage the white Gulf livery if I could find the right sized stickers.

He means so it looks like this for the Gulf livery
http://img172.imagevenue.com/loc551/th_10110_gulf96arr26pk_122_551lo.jpg (http://img172.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=10110_gulf96arr26pk_122_551lo.jpg)
or this for the Fina livery
http://img165.imagevenue.com/loc448/th_10152_008R_Fina_2_122_448lo.jpg (http://img165.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=10152_008R_Fina_2_122_448lo.jpg)

Another angle on the White Gulf livery:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20D/th_mc157ta.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1%20D/mc157ta.jpg)

This livery was only seen at the start of the 1996 BPR season at the Paul Ricard 4-hour race. It was used on GTR #08R - which had been a Gulf GTC team car the through the end of the 1995 BPR season. The car was apparently brought in as a last minute replacement when their new '96-spec GTR #15R was crashed in qualifying. The drivers for this race were Lindsay Owen-Jones and Pierre Henri Raphanel.

By using a replacement car that had not qualified, they were forced to start at the back of the grid, and because they did not have time to properly set up the car for the race that day they remained there. According to the poster included with "Driving Ambition", the car failed to finish the race and I found some info on the web that stated the car only lasted 31 laps before retiring due to suspension failure. It has to be the shortest racing career for any livery used on an F1 GTR, hence the lack of photos.

If anyone is interested in the F50 GT they are now taking orders on it!
I have gotten a lot of interest around my model pictured here so I wanted to make sure you guys have the possibility even if this is a Mac forum.
The Best looking Ferrari ever!
This supercar was designed by Michelotti to compete in the BPR Global GT Endurance Series. However, the F50 race program was halted and just 3 cars were built, making the F50 GT one of the rarest modern Ferraris.

- 1/12 scale hand made resin built from scratch
- Limited edition 50 pieces
- No opening parts but detailed interior and exterior
- Speedline rims
- awesome finish in bright Scuderia red
-Very well made with drilled rotors and Brembo calipers

Contact me for large image and if interested to be forwarded to seller.
