crazy gauges

here's a question...the guages in my car went crazy accompanied by the check gauges light and the coolant light..the temp gauge, the rpm guage and the speedometer all went to 0 but came back up in a second and the check gauges light and the coolant light went away..this happened in varying intervals within the span of 1.5 hours..any ideas?? (cheap ones :>??)
