Well, I'm back again with another problem with my 98 4.3 4X4 Chevy Blazer. This morning when I woke up I turned the key in the ignition and it didn't fire as quickly as it use to, I had to hold it forward a little longer than normal. I noticed that when I was pulling out of the drive way that the lights flickered on the dashboard and my voltage dropped on the indicator.

This afternoon at lunch it did the same thing. This time is was doing it off and on as I was driving down the road. I got back to work and disconnected the battery terminal to see if there was any corrosion. It wasn't dirty at all. Any ideas on the problem.

My guess is that its probably an ingnition switch but I'm not a mechanic.

Go to the auto store and have them run a free charging system test - appears your alternator is dying and if the gage shows less than 13.5-14 volts the battery is discharging and will soon die. Common for Blazers is 80k on an alternator and if hot climate 3 years on battery.
