What kind of exhaust should my friend get for his Tiburon?kahuna7 11-04-2006, 12:02 AM What should he get and where can he order it from? Also, I have a 1998 Firebird with a 3800 Series II v6. If me and him were to race...who should win (I have an automatic 4 speed and he has a manual 5 speed). If he's able to beat my Firebird...how would he do against my 2000 WS6 Trans Am with a LS1 5.7 (C5 Corvette Engine) 6speed manual ? Rickna 11-23-2006, 10:43 AM Think of your engine as a pump (beacuse it is). The less resistance on the inlet & outlet the better. Most start with a CAI or short ram intake. Less twists & bends plus a larger intake pipe will allow a greater volume of air to enter the motor. On the exhaust side there are may options. The 1st being over or under axle. Over axle catbacks will make a little more back pressure (resistance). For my purposes that's ok because I am running a roots blower that performs better with some slight back pressure. Under axle catbacks have less resistance but hang low on the car and risk bottoming out. then there's the sound aspect. Some prefer lound some don't. IMO, the Tib draws enough attention without being loud. I have a Borla-one of the quietest around, but my headers even that out. the most popular are Borla, ARK, Injen, Greddy & Mussa. Be careful of ebay knock-offs as they can have fitment & quality issues. Look in the aftermarket sites thread for links to vendors. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
