073 wheelsdrewwtms 11-03-2006, 03:45 PM Does anyone else think the wheels on #073 are just wrong? I do so I made a few crude photoshops. 073 with LM-style wheels: http://douging.smugmug.com/photos/107685609-M.jpg 073 with BBS RS-GT wheels: http://douging.smugmug.com/photos/107685606-M.jpg Now I feel better. bradman60 11-03-2006, 04:30 PM do you have a picture of 073 with its original wheels, so i can compare them?? thanks Peloton25 11-03-2006, 04:42 PM The original image: http://photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1/th_AdiosSurburban.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1/AdiosSurburban.jpg) Or just look in the SEMA thread - it's the same F1. I actually don't mind the wheels on #073, but they wouldn't be my first choice. I'm definitely a fan of the OZ Chrono style wheel found on the GTRs and LMs and most HDF-kitted F1s. I'd really like to see an F1 running on a set of the new OZ Ultraleggera F1s that I saw in a magazine recently. I will try to find a picture. EDIT: This on a silver F1 would be just about perfect. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/MR2_Spyder/ultreggera-f1-bk-3.jpg Unfortunately the wheel is a promotional tie in with the Renault F1 team and it says that on the wheel, but other than that it's perfect. >8^) ER hurstg01 11-03-2006, 05:10 PM 073 with LM-style wheels: http://douging.smugmug.com/photos/107685609-M.jpg 073 with BBS RS-GT wheels: http://douging.smugmug.com/photos/107685606-M.jpg both of those wheel sets are an improvement - I'm not a fan of the wheels on #073 either, never have been. I'm with Erik.... I'm definitely a fan of the OZ Chrono style wheel found on the GTRs and LMs and most HDF-kitted F1s. ArchangelGTR 11-04-2006, 11:54 AM I agree with all so far... in fact I'll even go so far as to say that the OZ Chronos are probably the best looking wheels on the Mclaren. Jota 5084 11-07-2006, 08:10 AM I think the wheels of #73 realy sucks , they look very cheap. I would go for the dark GTR wheels. mini magic 11-07-2006, 09:19 AM I think the wheels of #73 realy sucks , they look very cheap. I would go for the dark GTR wheels. Definatley but i must say that the wheels on 073 were anything but cheap. I know you said they look cheap, and i sorta agree but they were very pricey ArchangelGTR 11-07-2006, 10:52 AM They only look cheap because everybody and their brother has copied them. Keep in mind that McLaren started putting them on their GTR's in 1997. So the wheel has been around for a while. And anything other than 5-spoke or mesh tends to get dated really quick. payso 11-07-2006, 04:04 PM They only look cheap because everybody and their brother has copied them. Keep in mind that McLaren started putting them on their GTR's in 1997. So the wheel has been around for a while. And anything other than 5-spoke or mesh tends to get dated really quick. they dont look as dished as the Longtail wheels, and the tyre profile plays a big part in the look, i think we are all used to looking at the Longtail racecars where they have a very low profile compared to the road going versions, this makes the roadcar wheels look shoite :cwm27: the racecars sit very low to the ground, and the roadcars sit very high when compared, all this makes a big difference in overall look :disappoin anyway, ill shut up now..... .......but if the wheels on #073 were painted a darker colour (anthracite) theyd look much better :icon16: hurstg01 11-07-2006, 05:09 PM ^^ #073 wheel http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/1756/dsc018615xyae7.th.jpg (http://img375.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc018615xyae7.jpg) #27R wheel http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/7451/027rcia11ig8.th.jpg (http://img294.imageshack.us/my.php?image=027rcia11ig8.jpg) #073's wheel is flatter with a larger centre hub, #27R's wheel has a deeper dish with a smaller centre hub thank god they didnt fit these wheels http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/5074/dscn0320ak5.th.jpg (http://img505.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn0320ak5.jpg)   payso 11-07-2006, 05:25 PM those wheels on #27R are the ones im liking very much :smooch:  vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
