MufflerDropkick13 11-02-2006, 09:16 PM After tons and tons of research/shopping, i am the proud new owner of an 06 ext cab 5.3L. Im definitely on a huge budget (now that i spent 26.5k) so im not wanting to buy a full exhaust set up, but i would like a nice deep tone without any cab drone. can i get this from just simply swapping out/bolting on an aftermarket muffler? I'm assuming so, so what kinda of tones do each produce (in your experience...again..5.3L). I would like loud and deep but i dont want a drone when im just cruising. thanks TexasF355F1 11-04-2006, 12:31 PM Had Borla muffler (single in - dual out) on mine for 6 years. It never once bothered me. It was actually very quiet, imo, unless I really got on it. Then it screamed with a very nice tone. Had nothing but compliments. I had turn downs instead of carrying it out the back so I'm sure that increased the cab resonance a little. There's a lot of good mufflers out there, but out of the few trucks I've been in with varying exhausts mines always been the most "liveable" for everyday driving. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
