is it worth the extra $100+ to get a cold air intake? should i just go with a short RAM intake and save money?

I put a short ram intake in my '95 Accord and love it. It sounds great at higher rpm and gives me a 1-2 mpg improvement. No different feeling in power, but it's paid for itself in gas savings.

id go with the cold air intake. Your sucking up the hot air in your engine compartment with the short ram, if you go with cold air, you'd be getting fresh cool air. It would take a little more effort to install, but I think its worth it. Just dont go driving through any deep puddles.

The thing with a CAI is the piping temprature. Being as how it is made of metal, it's not going to take too long to heat up to the temprature of the enging compartment. Then after it's gotten hot, it'll just heat up any air that goes through it up to temprature of the air so there isn't too much of a difference unless it's on a colder day when you are bringing in a huge difference in air temprature.

If you couldn't decide whether to get short ram or cold air. The alternative is to use replace your stock filter with AEM filter, AEM came out with the Dry-flo rewashable air filter. Should save you some $$.

Normally, when they installing the Cold Air Intake system, they will measure and cut the pipe hence to insert the Bypass Valve.

So, yeah, I guessed you could switch from Cold Air Intake kit to short ram, it will take time.
