Hey, welcome to the SRT-4 section.

I would recommend stock coil, msd wires, and ngk iridium plugs gapped at .035 or below.

how is a catchcan a mod?
Well technically it is modifying the car from its original state so isnt that a mod?

do you recommend me gettin this upgrade or just goin wit plugs and wires first? it doesnt seem like an important upgrade but im new so i really wouldnt know....what is the importance of this upgrade and is it really worth it?

A catch can IMO is worth it but so are wires and plugs so do what you can afford. I'd start out with a catch can and go from there personally

TEXSRT4

but the catchcan only violates emissions controls. it doesnt add any performance whatsoever. its the same way as saying you putting a new set of tires on the car or those darn fisheye mirrors as a mod.

from someone who is big in the srt4 community, i say leave the catchcan out and replace the wires and plugs first.

It depends on what you define as a modification I guess.
The reason I suggest a catch can is because my friends bone stock 04 has the $20 catch can and there is quite a bit of oil in it and maybe its just me but I dont want that in my intake system. I know when I get mine thats one of the first things that I'm going to do.

well how hard is it to install it? steps? how to? where did he get a catch can for 20 bucks? the ones i see are 89.99+ and that dosnt include the brackets...

TEXSRT4
11-02-2006, 07:14 PM
and i have 86,000+ miles with no issues, and im probably makign more boost than your friend also. the $20 ones look very cheesy, and clutter up the engine bay. the expensive ones will set you back $100...for what??? spend the $100 on an s1...more gains

To me it is all personal opnion. I personally dont like oil in my intake. I didnt even notice the $20 was there and if you do it right no one will unless they look for it.
No they arent hard to install if you know what a pcv system is. I think there are some write up on srtforums.
MY :2cents: is that a cc is worth the money. Take it or leave it, bottom line its your car and you will end up doing what you want.

x2, and plus, it doesn't even really cost $20. It's closer to $14-15:iceslolan . If you have an srt4, it's a must. Our stock, pcv system is almost like an oil line it dumps so much oil. You can get all your parts from walmart and Orileys for relatively cheap.

The mopar is kind of a bitch to install. Took me 2 hours to do it on my buddies srt. It takes about 30 seconds to take out 2 of the 3 bolts and an hour to do the 3rd lol.

TEXSRT4

go mopar. if installed correctly, you will have no leakage problems, no tunning issues, and no driveability issues. if you do want to go hks, you will need to buy a bov, a new uppipe (mind you, none of them fit well), and a block off plate for your factory turbo. needless to say, your spending a lot of money (upwards of $300) for no gain whatsoever. i find it more financially responsiable to get the $60 mopar one

lol i like where this threads going...does the mopar BOV replace the stock 1 with no problems? remove 3 bolts, remove the stock BOV, replace with mopar BOV, 3 bolts back in and im done?

TEXSRT4

yes, unbolt the stock one and bolt on the new one. making sure that you use some sort of sealant on the flange. tighten it down and your all set

yeah, I think I'm going MOPAR... thankx guyz

I wouldn't even waist your time on those, the mopar riceplate took me about 30 mins. to install the whole thing. Having small hands/arms helps...
