Will it fit?...

Here is an interesting thought I had tonight while browsing the wonderful world of ebay...

I have been searching and searching for some natural black leather seats for the Talon. I decided I didn't wanna risk dying them and screwing them up majorly or have the dye come off onto clothes...

So anyways, its just about impossible to find a set of black leather seats for a 2g. Then I came across a shitload of black leather seats for the 3g's. I looked them over just for a quick comparison and they are the same contour as our 2g seats. Now what I'm wondering is, does anybody thing they will actually fit? I have been slowly finding out that nearly every part between a 3g and 4g Firebird are interchangable with slight or no modifications whatsoever. We all know that 1g and 2g DSM's have many interchangable parts with slight or no modifications either. So who is to say that Mitsu didn't stick with the interchangability factor?

Thoughts? Opinions? Pictures? lol

well technically anything will "fit". My guess is they will be the same. Did you have a power drivers seat in the talon?

I know that anything can fit. But I am wondering if they are more of a simple bolt in and plug in swap. If I am going to have to modify things to make a seat fit then I won't even waste time with another stock Eclipse seat. Instead I would drop in some nice seats from Summit... Oh and yes I do have power seats.

I wouldn't be so sure of that...

The plugs between the stock head unit in my 92 Firebird matched up perfect to the head unit from an 01 Firebird...

Thats a pretty good job in years if you ask me. Whereas the Eclipses are only a few years apart... Then again, I could always be wrong here. lol

hey black crow i know for a fact that they will cuz im really a 3g trying to become a 2g guy. i have a 2000 eclipse and the seats that were in that were some fake ralliart seats made for a second gen eclipse. so yeah they should work. good luck

The main difference is that we have DSMs. DSMs are different and weird and odd but oh so sexy. Sure, it would make sense to keep parts the same from the 1G, 2G, 3G, and so on, but starting with the 3G (without the DSM name), everything changed.

I don't know if they'd fit, but it'd be cool to find out.
