Without getting into too much detail, can the 2 larger brown wires and 1 smaller white wire that are on the plug off the side of the alternator be spliced together, and then spliced to a fusible link wire before it is connected to the solenoid? It looks like there are 3 wires on the harness that goes into a rubber thingy and on the other side comes out one 14 gage fusible link wire that is connected to the solenoid. This is not the roundish plug that is on the upper side of the alternator, but the rectangle one on the lower side. Or does anyone know who, besides a junk yard, makes/sells aftermarket harness since this is discontinued. :2cents:

You can get just the plug in and try any auto parts stores.I know Carquest does. Most new Alternators from Carquest came with a new plug did and do not now.Ford has problems with the alternator plug ins burning and it is a common problem.

I was able to replace the plug to the alternator, I am asking about the other end of the harness that connects to the solenoid. Can those three wires be spliced together and onto a fusible link to connect to the solenoid? Is that what that little rubber thingy do to the wires? Make 3 wires into 1?
Thanks in advance.

I would go to a scrap yard and purchase a section of the harness you need.
