*progress* Vertex Ridge S15 SilviaRisko 10-30-2006, 10:49 AM Hello Together! This is my current project, Aoshimaīs Vertex Ridge S15. I havenīt big plans with this one, only modify the bonnet, scratchbuilt a small wing on the boot and change the wheels from Volk TE37 to Kränze LXZ. It will be low and painted white pearl with a touch purple (I hope:lol:) http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/4337/dsc04449ys0.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Started to open the vents on the fenders with these tools. http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4186/dsc04451nq3.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/1713/dsc04452mm4.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Gamerxz 10-30-2006, 11:16 AM I want those rims!!!! :frown: Jocache83 10-30-2006, 06:15 PM looking good so far. good luck. and enjoy the build anopanjo 10-31-2006, 02:40 AM nice work so far, wouldnt think bout selling those volks TE37's at all would u?? Im interested if u r!thnx 91p10nizmo 10-31-2006, 03:02 AM Looking good, will turn out great i know. Just wondering what happened to your D1gp skyline? anopanjo 10-31-2006, 03:54 AM haha yeh good point rememba that skyline ER34 ages ago it was looking go to.....we need progress, wel i want some becuase im going to be making the car soon! i hope! Good luck! Risko 10-31-2006, 04:36 AM Hehe, thanks for asking me about the BlitzER:grinyes: I do a break on that build, because I spotted that Aoshima release the 2006 version, which I have ordered. Now I wait till it arrives bc Iīm think I made the engine like in the 2006 version. I need to check the differences between the kits and Iīll build 2006 & 2004 version at the same time, one with engine- one with blue neon light:iceslolan But now back to my quickie, the bonnet vent is done. I cutted a big "H" in the hood, bendet one end up end the other down. 2 small stripes of thin styrene and Tamiya Basic putty- done! http://img288.imageshack.us/img288/637/dsc04454jk3.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img285.imageshack.us/img285/7103/dsc04455dw0.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img430.imageshack.us/img430/962/dsc04456zf2.jpg (http://imageshack.us) KevHw 10-31-2006, 05:32 AM I'll be following this closely as I've got the same kit near the top of my to-do pile. Thanks for the explanation to do the bonnet...wasn't sure how but will def be using your method on my own S15. Nice rims too, just not my taste as I prefer the TE37's. Keep us updated :) anopanjo 10-31-2006, 06:31 AM nice work here its coming along nicely, would you recommend this s15(Aoshima) over the tamiya ones, I need a s15 to add to my collection as i have none yet :( .... Also bout the TE-37's you aint thinkin of seling them are you??leme no! 5ynergyx 10-31-2006, 07:57 AM I love the rims! Risko 11-04-2006, 07:14 AM Hello again:smokin: This is my first S15, so I can´t really say which make is better, I like this kit so far and I can recommend it. And it has the wide body. It´s nearly similar to the red HKS D1 one. What I don´t like, is that you could have the option to do the clear chrome rear lights... There is the chrome part, but not the clear cover part:screwy:. The only "problems" I have so far, is that the bonnet is bendet and the wheel cases are too small to have a smooth working steering on front tyres. The TE37 I will use for a Skyline or Supra, so, sorry I never sell rims:grinno: This I did so far... I changed the piping from the inter cooler, I think thicker looks better! :iceslolan http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/9350/dsc04463hm4.jpg (http://imageshack.us) I also added some styrene to the inner side of the wheel arches to reach a more realistic look and that you only can see the front tyre through the fender vent at the tyre and not from the door. http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/6208/dsc04461wv9.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/2932/dsc04462me0.jpg (http://imageshack.us) This should be drift car and for such car is steering important for higher drift- angle. So I cutted and rebuild the parts of inner fenders at front because I want to keep the car low and the bigger rims. http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/5836/dsc04460rn4.jpg (http://imageshack.us) That´s how it looks from outside :p http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/6474/dsc04459bn0.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/6205/dsc04458ra6.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Next update bill be with paint I hope :grinyes: energon 11-04-2006, 05:49 PM This thing's looking GREAT! Keep it comming. I can't wait to see how it turns out. rod_k2 11-04-2006, 06:31 PM GOD!!!! I want one!!!! Looks awesome! 91p10nizmo 11-04-2006, 06:48 PM Great job Risko, that bonnet looks awesome. Risko 11-24-2006, 07:58 AM Small prewiev :D Dirty underdcarrige, some details I have to add, bad that I see them missing after painting :shakehead http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/9521/dsc04471yn9.jpg KevHw 11-24-2006, 10:27 AM Looks fantastic so far. Great work and modifying to the chassis. A very realistic undercarriage too....nice! Can't wait for more. anopanjo 11-24-2006, 07:56 PM ey nice work on the undercarriage! btw how do you make the worn look?? i like it alot! Svendsen 11-25-2006, 06:36 AM ey nice work on the undercarriage! btw how do you make the worn look?? i like it alot! yeah how is it done? Do you mix some paint or what? AB or brush? anopanjo 11-25-2006, 06:40 AM i think its sprayed with a black then a grey which is sanded or some colours...just my thought Risko 11-25-2006, 09:16 AM Thank you :) :grinno: Itīs grey first, then I spray with a very low pressure a thick flat black, then with high pressure clean thinner. Then with a brush some of my dirty thinner (from the bottle where I clean my brushes after using dark and metallic colours), a little bit of wet sanding, again only thinner with airbrush. At last I brush some black "shadows" with a paint like water based which drys waterproof http://www.spc.org.uk/forum/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif I donīt know how I call it in English, but the paints are for airbrushing on paper. mrceej 11-27-2006, 05:04 PM Loving the details!! I like how you're putting in the effort to make it have a realistic look and feel to it. Simply awesome!! Risko 12-01-2006, 05:19 AM :D Hello again, the suspension is done, the first time I have added some brake lines... I´m very happy, all 4 tires are turning very well, steering works very good :icon16: The rims are painted with Tamy smoke, only the "Kränze" decals to the center I have to add. On the boot I had to fill some molded dents  http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/7644/dsc04478qu6.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5654/dsc04480gz6.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/3740/dsc04485rm6.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/1135/dsc04492ii0.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/5613/dsc04484fl5.jpg (http://imageshack.us) rod_k2 12-01-2006, 05:47 AM OOOHHSOME!! Cool man! Awesome!! Wich color it'll be? Risko 12-01-2006, 05:52 AM White with purple pearl, I hope! Risko 12-02-2006, 05:45 AM Muffler update, selfmade from 8 pieces aluminium tube, a wire and a metal stripe. The tubing parts are holdet together with super glue, polished to chrome look and weathered with Tam. smoke and Tam. clear orange, thinner and fire :evillol: Bendet a stripe around the muffler and soldered together also the wire to the stripe. http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/2553/dsc04497ep8.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/2393/dsc04493ea9.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/8599/dsc04494jc3.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/3199/dsc04498ik3.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/1226/dsc04495lx4.jpg (http://imageshack.us) anopanjo 12-02-2006, 06:07 AM I absolutly love those rims!! there insane and suit this ride really well, itscoming along real nice keep it up, im doing a scratchbuild vertex bodykit atm for a fujimi car, i might start a thread on it sometime!...Pity the rims are discontinued on HLJ :( energon 12-02-2006, 06:29 PM Excelent work on that muffler! This is a great build! Keep it comming.... I WANT MORE!!!!! bai 12-03-2006, 12:16 AM some negative camber one the wheels would be nice~~ love those wheels~ keep up the good work Risko 12-05-2006, 09:16 PM :grinyes: Thanks guys!! Well, some sh** happens to Risko, too :shakehead:banghead::shakehead I canīt remember when, but itīs not the first time I have this problem. I painted the body and the bonnet with the same stuff to the same time... Good news, the body is nearly perfect. The bad news, the bonnet got eaten from the paint and looks now like the skin from elephant :disappoin Luckily I have the KaiOffice kit, which has 2 bonnets inside :icon16: , I have to sleep and think about if I do the vent again... Do you have an idea why this happend? I mean why only the bonnet??? http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/3086/dsc04501sk6.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/7676/dsc04500ns2.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/9718/dsc04502qm8.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Risko 12-08-2006, 02:02 PM Well, the good news I have to take back:crying: To the body happend something bad, too. After painting, decaling and clearcoting a little bit of wet sanding and the paint was damaged... Brake fluid, sanding, repainting... luckyly a friend has a new decal sheet for me. Please wish me luck, if I ruin this one, too, this project.... :eek7: Metal_GUN 12-08-2006, 04:12 PM :pimp: Good Luck MAN KEEP ON WORKING. Great work. sportracer02 12-09-2006, 03:01 AM Hi, well done so far  , nice weathering at the chassis. It is a little bit strage, what happened to the hood. However, you should check the fit of the rear wheel. It doesnīt seem to sit in the middle of the wheel well http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/2553/dsc04497ep8.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Risko 12-09-2006, 04:47 AM :shakehead I think the completed chassis is too far at the front, but when I look on the front tyres, they looking better in place. The rear axle is correct, too. Aoshima uses the older undercarriage for this widebody, too. Look how the mounts are... I sanded 1,5mm from these 3 tubes and connectors to get the chassis more back. 1,5mm away- 0,5mm sucess:disappoin I think to add some tubes to the front, but I donīt like to have any more headaches on this build. http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/5716/dsc04508ni6.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Btw, a real drift car is a crash car!! http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/3400/dsc04505mj9.jpg (http://imageshack.us) http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/7051/dsc04504ru9.jpg (http://imageshack.us) anopanjo 12-09-2006, 06:11 PM are you keeping it like that?? or you going to paint it?? Looks good! Risko 12-11-2006, 08:33 AM The Silvia becomes my personal trouble record holder :icon16: , I had many troubles with the new bonnet, but now itīs completed. The body wears new paint, needs new decals and clear cote. http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/1520/dsc04512qb9.jpg http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/3571/dsc04513tp5.jpg http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/5789/dsc04514bf0.jpg http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8819/dsc04510rx6.jpg Metal_GUN 12-11-2006, 08:42 AM Sexy !!:licka: bai 12-11-2006, 08:54 AM bonnet looks nice~ good CF work anopanjo 12-11-2006, 05:36 PM Wow stunning! what paint did u use? Risko 12-11-2006, 06:02 PM Thank you for your kind words! I mixed the paint from Testorīs white primer, a little bit of Alfa Romeo automotive pearl paint (sorry, no code- itīs the blue/silver to gold one) and some of Flagship Pigment Powder purple.:smokin: bri g 12-11-2006, 08:53 PM that is a really nice color, I'm sure the clearcoat will bring out the pearl color you mixed it. good restoration work after the paint damage :) hypertek 12-12-2006, 04:32 AM looks sweet, can u push the wheels out a lil more?? to make em more flush to the fenders Risko 12-14-2006, 06:27 AM kunta 12-14-2006, 11:09 AM Fantastic progress!! the model looks so sexy. keep it up! The Silvia wears now glases on her eyes, just like me! There was an area on the bumper which had be done black, too. From the glas to the lights... 2 mm along the light. This I made with black foil from 3M, no more painting on this body  The fender indicators are also done, with Tamiya clear orange and smoke on BMF sorrounded with some black. I tried to catch some day light to show the taillights, not easy to find daylight this time  The interor is painted, some details are missing- but this will be the colour scheme. Flat back the floor, semigloss black (old Testorīs blacks), and semigloss red (old Revell paint). http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/7695/dsc04553qs2.jpg http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/785/dsc04557lj8.jpg http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/4641/dsc04558nh3.jpg http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/1290/dsc04559ca5.jpg http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7645/dsc04561ac8.jpg rod_k2 12-20-2006, 09:03 AM Greeeeaaaat!!! Last update before completed! A few parts to add + the dashboard = finished! I tinted the glases from front to rear darker, but it was very dark, so I had to cut out the driverīs window. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m24/real_risko/2006-07%20Model%20Cars/AoRiskoVertexS15_130.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m24/real_risko/2006-07%20Model%20Cars/AoRiskoVertexS15_133.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m24/real_risko/2006-07%20Model%20Cars/AoRiskoVertexS15_134.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m24/real_risko/2006-07%20Model%20Cars/AoRiskoVertexS15_135.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m24/real_risko/2006-07%20Model%20Cars/AoRiskoVertexS15_123.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m24/real_risko/2006-07%20Model%20Cars/AoRiskoVertexS15_124.jpg auw12 12-26-2006, 09:17 AM GORGEOUS!!!!so what are you planning to do next?i guess enter the AFMOTY contest~~~:grinyes: Risko 01-10-2007, 05:32 PM Thanks!
