rear wiper wont shut offradrobbie 10-30-2006, 09:33 AM one day i turned on the rear wiper in my 93 rodeo and it wouldn't stop. Had to pull the breaker to make it quit. when i put the fues back in, it starts up again. how do i go about figuring this out? jcb18 10-30-2006, 10:30 AM I have never seen a wiring diagram for the rear wiper, but I'm betting it's a relay, not a fuse. Does it have four connections or two? If it has four then it's a relay. Try swapping it out with another one you know for sure works and see what happens. The turn signal relay might work if they're the same type. I'm just guessing they might be (don't know for sure since I can't go out and look at mine at the moment), just don't forget to swap it back before driving. If the relay is fine I'd check out the switch next. Overall, if the wiper won't stop running the wiring itself is probably fine, it's just a matter of finding the bum component. I'd imagine you could get a replacement relay or switch pretty cheap. I think I got a fog light relay from the dealer for about $5. Gizmo42 10-30-2006, 01:58 PM I've never seen one refuse to stop before. The normal problem is the contacts on the relay go bad and it doesnt work at all. In your case I would guess either the switch is broken and stuck in the on position, or the contacts of the relay fused together. Replacing the relay isnt TOO hard to do but its much more involved then just unpugging it and popping in another one. See HERE (http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/viewtopic.php?t=5608) for a how to with pics. Edit: just reread your post and noticed yours is a '93, I'm not sure if it had the same setup as the 2nd gens. Maybe someone will clarify that. radrobbie 11-01-2006, 05:05 PM it was the switch. replaced it and fixed problem Thankx vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
