hmmmmmm...thanks for your sympathy :(

the car does 17 flat stock (according to the ethranet)
with i/h/e, i was expecting low 16s, a 15.9 wouldn't hurt! now you see why i was so disappointed :disappoin i'm going to try again next year spring time as all tracks are closed where i live, i've already cancelled all planned mods for the red machine :disappoin

intake/headers/exhaust WILL NOT pick you up 1 second, sorry. It takes a whole lot more then that. Might get 1 second in the 1/4 with an extra 100 horsepower. i/h/e might get ya 5 in a 4-cylinder.

And that's assuming that you could have even got a 17.00 run with your car stock. What the magazines do with their professional drivers and corrected times usually aint what you (or anybody else for that matter) can do.

I was about right.

Don't worry about the first time out.
I did horrible my first time out as well. It isn't easy and does take practice.
Don't give up man...keep fighting it.

As an owner of a 93 Corolla, I can tell you there is no chance in hell it runs a 17 stock. I'd be happy with a 19 in my car right now. With what you have done to it, that sounds about right to me.

Is Ricers car an automatic?

Cause, if so, that could be why it's so slow, and why the stock 5-speed car may be able to do 17s stock...

Get some fat slicks and run again...

^traction is not a problem foo!

the etranet has on file that a 1993 1.8L 5 spd does a 17 flat. The 93 and 94(what i have) is the last of the OBD1 1.8L engine of this gen's model which came with the most HP. I'm also manual but my clutch is slipping away. Thanks for everyone's support! Like i said, i am very disappointed, as i've heard a couple guys are running much quicker times with their OBD1 1.8 5spd. I'll get a dyno in and see what i've got to work with! till next time! Got too many shitttt in my head right now......

clutch slippin is owning you. how much do those rims weigh as well. it might have been better to just put on the stockies, if they weighed less.

seems that you had a pretty decent r/t as well. maybe you should look into braket racing as this is your 1dt time out.

thats a pretty nice 60, guess it's easy launching a 130hp car.

I'm actually somewhat suprised. I was expecting to somewhere in the 16s. Clutch slip is probably killing ya, and just tossing on bolt ons wont really add that much power on a motor that I am fully assuming isn't made for racing, so therefore its already doing the best it can. Therefore, breathing mods aren't really gonna open anything up, and even if it did, you would need to get a tune as well to tell the engine that it is getting more air. Elsewise, who knows? Fix up the clutch, get some lighter whells and stickier tires, add some boost, and maybe you can break 15s?

Don't be so generous...it's 115 hp stock. And I doubt IHE adds 15 hp...I've tried it before and it didn't do much as far as I could tell. Only fucked up the emissions test.

better than my 1st run where I just spun in the jetta, my last run I got a 2.3XX so for a car with only 115hp what he got isnt that bad.

His short times were 2.6's.

my times with the stang were pretty bad as well. Nobody is a good driver to start with. It definately takes practice.

.4 and .5 reaction times are not very good when .000 is perfect, lol. And getting a good reaction time is important in any form of drag racing, bracket or heads up.

Yeah, with those times.......he had to have been waiting until he saw green, maybe even a shade later. Lauching right after the the last yellow usually nets me a .507-.570(on a .500 light), which is a pretty wide comfort zone for me. The only confusing part is remembering when to leave depending on what vehicle I'm driving. The truck with the big stall is way different that the stock ss. :)

Yeah. You have to leave as the bottem yellow is going off or you'll sure be snozzing, even in a fast reacting car.

A slow car now, you have to go for it as soon as the light comes on, if not on the 2nd yellow.
