Ok well ive been planning on doing this idea for a while now, I wanted to build a prowler but making it more of a traditional style hot rod.
I started by cutting off the nose at the firewall.

the engine and rails are going to be exposed just like a '32. the engine in this isnt the best looking so im debating a late model V8 from a Corvette etc.

heres the ruff mock of what im going for..

im debating going for the highboy look and loosing the rear fenders, i think the chanelled body looks good as well

thanks for checking out my work.. more updates soon

i finally decided to go all out and go for the highboy.. i think it should look pretty good when its all done, although now i need to fill the gaps and create some detail in the rear end..

Yo Miller Sweet Prowler. Very original idea.

Tell me, how do you do the mexican rug look in cars. I wanted to do the same in my 36 Ford Coupe because i love rat rods and am thinking that will be a cool look. Judging by the other stuff on the site it seems you are the go to man when it comes to getting that mean dirty look. Plus I'm Guessing you are an AUSSIE!

Doing it up old School style would be cool. I think the front wheels could be a smaller diameter though. It's looking VERRY cool!! I'm loveing this build. I can't wait to see how this turns out!

Very cool... planning to put mirror or checkerboard on the firewall? :)

I would have to agree with energon as well... having big late model style wheels is fine, but being a traditional hot rod it really should have smaller ones up front. Just my two cents, it depends what wheels you have for the project, obviously...

I agree with the smaller front wheels idea. I bet you can get some torque thrust II's in a smaller diameter from pegasus, or someone like that. I bet you already have a set in your parts bin!!

I love the hiboy look too, but I don't think it needs to be dragging frame. with the prowler, I'd suggest going with a modern high tech look with the finish work of a rat rod. like, to keep the buckets, but go with a mexican blanket look for the apholstry. go with black or red primer with a semi gloss coat, rather than the full on stealth flat color. open engine bay sides, but instead of a V-8, go with a twin turbo with dumps that go along the rockers and flute out with an angle cut just before the rear tires. or keep the v-8 idea and go with organ pipe headers to wrap back under the frame and exit the rear under the car. definitely clean up the firewall and go with some kind of evil paint application. shave all the handles and mirrors and what not.

this is definitely a sweet ride, and I'd expect someone like Troy Trepanier, or Foose to get that ballzy!! I love the idea, I hope it works out well for you, and I can't wait to see more progress!

Thanks for all the great ideas guys! The to-do list is growing and growing everyday now. The wheels i have on it were just for mock up purposes, im in the process of hunting down the right ones now.. although i once saw a rod (i think it was a tall T from memory) build by "Steet Rods By Wild Card" it had large diameter wheels front and back and looked wicked.

I think the paint will be semi flat black and orange, and as for the fire wall i havent decided yet.

I like the idea of Mexican Blanket upolstry on buckets so we might have to see how that goes...

Thanks again for all your input, it means alot comming from you lads..
