removing stud on head that holds valve coveratv087 10-29-2006, 04:40 PM i got my replacement motor and i realised that one of the studs was snapped off that stick out of the head to the valve cover i dont want it to leak oil. anyone know if the stud is replaceable and if so how to get it out? ShadeTreeBill 10-30-2006, 07:37 PM http://www.mytoolstore.com/hanson/extractr.html You need a screw extractor. You drill a hole down the center of the stud bolt, and then use the extractor to "unscrew" it from the block. New stud bolts are available from BMW. Good luck! atv087 11-02-2006, 10:37 AM a friend of mine did it for me and it worked great no re tapping needed or anything. old motor is almost out of the car today i have to take out the 3 torque convertor bolts and the 2 motor mounts and its coming out. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
