just replaced the front pads on the corolla. the shims were very rusted out. inner shims rusted a lot more than the outer shims. I have tried stores in canada, only canadian tire can order them.

i live pretty close to the border what about stores in the states? i know of AUTOZONE where else should i check?

another question when i replaced the front pads. the right inner pad had deep set of groves at the edges..does this mean i need new rotors?

Rotors should be resurfaced if they are thick enough or replaced. Have you tried your local Toyota dealer for the shims. In the States, some dealers have similar prices for parts as parts store chains. Most auto parts store chains have websites so you can check availability. Try looking the yellow pages for the names of the chain stores. Some names of stores that come to mind are; Autozone, Kragen, Shuck's, Checker, Pep Boys, Napa.

thanks i will check these other stores out.

i called autozone they said they have a 'hardware' kit for front brakes...might be in there but i'd have to go into the store to see.

Check out the price for new rotors at the same time, maybe cheaper than having them resurfaced.

when i check out the hardware kit perhaps tomorrow i'll post here if they include the shims..
