Just started this car, for my current website I am creating, here she is.

thats cool.. i haven't been working on my veyron lately, and with the 1x turbo smooth it has about 650,000 polygons
for a first 3-d car, its not that bad but i think im still learning at my age.
my brother is working on video games and crap so he showed me just about everything in half an hour.

EDIT: i noticed i do my 3-d cars different from other people..

i just do a basic outline of the car and cram in the details, next step is to smooth the baby up

Ok back with some updates, did some work on the windows, did some tweaking and lots more to go as far as tweaking, but here is what I have so far. Hope you all like it. Let me know if there is anything to fix. Crits. are always welcome.

- one thing I do notice, is that the trim of the windows looks a bit strange, its fine when in max just when I render it out it looks like that? see what happens when I apply materials to it.

lol yes, yes, as for now you can.. I don't like it either. I'll be modeling that soon I get some major parts down first then start stuffing it, so you can't see the rear tires from the front. Thanks dude! i'll fill it in soon.

the reflections on the side are a little overpowering, but then again, its new paint ( hehe )

Working on the back of the car, here is progress. The rear looks kinda clumpy at the moment, just laying out a basic shape.

Update.. goin slow at the moment I'll pick it up.. just testing a high res HDRI image and here is the results.

One is the current project.. a little dark but shows the hdri off
and the other pic is my old 350z project with the hdri and I made it huge to fit a 19" wide screen monitor 1400x900 enjoy

Thanks man! Actually I was thinking about selling my models soon, in Max format and for other 3D apps, the Max file would work best if you have Max and Vray, purchasing these cars with Max file and Vray, you would get what you would see on the last screenshots. Other apps have good render systems as well so you could get some nice results. Max does come with mental ray which is a nice renderer if you do not have vray.


I'll also sell render pictures like the ones I am posting, but when the car is finished. The pictures would be large, and could be used for posters, websites, wallpaper, etc.

Got some bad news, I lost my latest files to the R8. I got my hands on Vista and I decided to format and install it, and I forgot that I saved the files in a temp spot and cleared it. :( I guess RIP R8 Project.

I usually leave some small stuff out until the end, like brake calipers, and door handles etc.. I guess it all depends on what I feel like modeling, but if I were to sell a car then the model would be complete, only thing I would maybe leave out would be the interior, maybe.

The M3 will start soon. very soon.

The car was far from completion it was about 70% done. I was still working on it when I lost the files I have some older files of the R8 but it was way back when major parts of the car were not done.

I see what you mean when it comes to the rims. I can turn the reflect down a bit more like a brush metal but more chrome like..
