I have a 2000 K1500 5.3 with a K&N FIPK and have removed the stock muffler and put in a Borla Turbo muffler. It sounds great but I'm real tired of the rumble I get in the cab. Will a resonator help if I put it a couple of feet from the end of the tail pipe? If not what can I do to quiet it down.

A resonator will help some, and getting the end of the exhaust all the way out the back of the vehicle will help a lot. Stock resonators are frequently installed right at the very end of the system, with about a 6" tailpipe on the end. A proper resonator won't hurt flow either. They are usually straight-through units with a perforated inner pipe leading to a packing of ceramic wool or fiberglass - Just like the old-school "glass-packs" were made.

Does the rumble come from the end of the exhaust or the muffler itself? My pipeing is stock...I just had the old muffler cut out and the turbo installed. If it's the muffler making the noise could I move it further back in the system?

I've accidentally decreased the amount of rumble resonating in the cab. When I installed my stereo I used Dynamat along the entire floor of the cab and against the rear of the cab. I noticed afterwards that the resonation (is that a word?) in the cab was almost nonexistant. 2 birds with 1 stone :icon16:

Do your pipes go all the way to the back of the truck or do you have turn-downs? That can make a difference. Never heard a Borla Turbo, but had Borla on my truck and it was far from loud in the cab. Just install a Flowmaster for a day then swap back, you'll think you put the stock back on.

As you can see the exhaust pipe is stock and I like it that way to keep the fumes away from the trailer.
Here is the muffler I have:
