Guy needs to learn how to do a dyno pull. You don't change gears while doing it.

I keep close look on that guy hes on "chevy blazer forum" Im gonna be " that guy" i think its weak. He did a home made turbo to a stock engine and it only made 255. Dont get me wrong congrats to him that must be fun, But if i was going to turbo anything at 8lbs it would hope to see more then 55 hp jump. Im also no really big on the remote turbos at all. I think its a short cut to get a cool turbo noise. If your gonna go somthing thing like that go big or go home. But never the less it is preety kool, fun little up grade, Hes deff got to do somthing about the One wheel burner.

I think with a proper tune he can increase those numbers a lot. The remote setups do work quite well.

There is a tiny bit more lag, but they are much more easier to work on.

350 with a weiland blower would impress me. I can do a burnout like that right now with just pouring some bottled water on my tire.

That was pretty neat

I think he does blame the weak numbers on the fact thats its un-tuned. I would be mainly concerd with having the air filter under the car, But the front mount does look awesome in some of the pictures that i have seen him post

i think that was sick. that 255hp is at the wheels, not the engine. stock is 130-140 at the wheels. that was a home made kit right? i think sts should make one for the blazer and include a programmer w/custom tune.

That is true, it is not bad at all.

yea around stock is about 134 to 144 when i had my blazer dynoed. I did a few things to it to get it up to 193

wow 255 doesnt seem that bad i though our blazer had more than that.

nope. factory rating is 190hp at the crank and they put down 130-140 to the wheels. so 255rwhp is a 100+hp gain without tuning. id say thats pretty damn good.

And what did you do to gain 50HP?

Rebuilt the engine. I wouldn't recommend it cause I'm having some idle issues. I went with a mag cat, hypertech stage 3 programmer, crane firewire , and some JBA headers that they had at the local tune shop that did the rebuild.

If i was gonna spend 2.5k i would be the GM 350 H.O in the summit mag for 2,499

No offense, but those changes won't net you 50 extra HP. Maybe 5-10 tops.

Thats not all the engine wasnt rebuilt with stock parts.

Oh?

Please, let me know what you used during the rebuild.

And why wasn't that mentioned earlier?

Do you have a dyno run graph where you got your 195WHP?

Would love to see it. :)

Love looking at a 4.3L torque curve.

haha yea i gotta find it somewhere. i was shocked the first run when i found out i only had 133 at the wheels.

While you are at it, find me what heads, cam, piston, rods, and rockers he used. For the cam I need to know the left and such and maybe what model number of it.

Did he port and polish the heads and what compression did he set it up for.

TheBrettster

well i believe the camshaft was from competition cams and the piston were from speedpro.

What size pistons were used? Did you up the compression?

What was the lobe size for the cam?

haha, to many questions for him. Before i decided to pull the v6, i bored it, put .030 forged pistons, used stock crank, rods. Put a comp cam in, not large enough to mess up the computer, used the roller lifters/pushrods/springs that was recommended for the cam and i used 350 aluminum roller rocker arms. Then, I bought aluminum 4.3 vortec heads, got a 3 angle vavle job, ported and polished. Throttle body spacer, upgrader MAF, and K&N cold air intake. I'm not 100% sure, but i believe i was somewhere around 9.7:1, which means still 87 octane, but i run 92 anyways. But i was getting like 12 mpg city, and like 18/19 highway. My freind put an LS1 in his truck, gets about 16 city and 24 highway. So i yanked the 4.3 and sold it for an undisclosed amount.
