hi rev tunersGTR240sx 09-09-2002, 12:39 AM anyones seen this show? cuz it sucks mad ass. the reporters on it know nothing at all about cars and it shows. and man do they get on your nerves. so far after 6 shows that i have seen. i have seen 1 nissan on it. a GTR. other than that it is all hondas. and there was a civic with a BMW conversion. how fucking gay. but not as bad as a S14 conversion for a civic. :flamer:honda PART 09-09-2002, 01:07 AM yeah i caught it tonite for like the second time, i mean whatever its a start maybe a show like it will come along and not be sponsored by ford, and not be completely brand biased but for now whatever its tv exec's reconginzing that theres a market for an import tuner video magazines here in the us. and like i said thats a good start even on a channel completely and hopelessly devoted to nascar J SPEC SilEighty 09-09-2002, 10:31 AM yeah I agree. I've seen that show and it does suck. I stopped watching it about a month ago it was so bad. GTR240sx 09-09-2002, 02:38 PM yeah the show is horrible. there is only one good thing that is coming from that show. if is the fact that it is showing the public that the import scene is moving to bigger and better things. but til then we are stuck with crap. J SPEC SilEighty 09-09-2002, 03:48 PM Originally posted by GTR240sx yeah the show is horrible. there is only one good thing that is coming from that show. if is the fact that it is showing the public that the import scene is moving to bigger and better things. but til then we are stuck with crap. That's true. Hi-Rev tuners is the only show (that I know of) focused on the import scene that is shown on TV. I think the show would be WAY better if they didn't just show the exterior of the car and talk about it's body. I mean some of that is ok but that's almost all they talk about. If they could get the owners to actually talk about their cars engine and stuff like what kind of power it's putting out, how much time they spent on it and stuff like that then it would be a lot better of a show IMO. The only time I hear them talk about the engines is when they are saying something like "check out this cool intake" and there will be a nice big turbo sitting there. Why can't they talk about something besides the intakes? That show just got old to me after the first couple times I saw it. I'm waiting for NOPI Tuner Vision to start on september 22nd. They will be showing footage from their car shows/drag races this season. Hopefully it's a little better than Hi-Rev Tuners. Here's the scheduale for the NOPI TV. http://www.nopi.com/ndratvschedule.htm GTR240sx 09-09-2002, 11:54 PM reason why they only talk about the body is cuz there is nothing under the hood...i have seen a few with turbos and superchargers but other than that there is nothing there but alot of rice. shadowz 09-10-2002, 04:21 PM OK, maybe i'm the one who is wrong...but doesn't JDM stand for : Jpanaese DOMESTIC Market??? the tuner trivia question or whatever they call it was "what does jdm stand for?" they said it stood for : Japanese Direct Market shadowz 09-10-2002, 04:25 PM LOL they just showcased this 2000 civic because it had 19" wheels GTR240sx 09-10-2002, 06:08 PM actually i dont know what JDM actually stands for. but i doubt that it is "direct". but who knows. all i know is that jdm versions of our 240's are turbo and called silvia. and actaully alot of jdm cars are way better than what we have here. i hate that. oh and i saw that gay civic with 19's. wow so interesting. J SPEC SilEighty 09-10-2002, 06:48 PM shadowz, your right, JDM does stand for Japanese Domestic Market JDMEddie 09-10-2002, 09:36 PM Im e-mailing a link of this thred to high-rev tuners...I say we give them some pointer...maybe we can get PAID!!!!:licker: dbiggss 09-10-2002, 09:47 PM you know what shadowz i was thinking the exact same thing. i saw that shit and it just showed me how little they really know. JDMEddie 09-10-2002, 09:50 PM I want everyone to email and CC to these people: http://www.brenton.org/contact.html they are responsible for Hi-rev RiCing.... shadowz 09-10-2002, 10:55 PM i emailed them. that's what i was planning to do in the first place, just wanted to make sure i was correct... hopefully they don't realize this is a 240sx forum and start talking about 240's all the time....then even more people would be jumping on the bandwagon... i geuss i can't talk, cuz i jumped on the bandwagon too about 6 months ago...altough there was only one car on the bandwagon that i knew of(my friend alex)...then i discovered this place and everyone was talking about everyone else jumping on the bandwagon...heh o well:finger: JDMEddie 09-11-2002, 11:00 PM They sent me a form letter...since i can't upload pics i will paste it: Thank you for contacting Brenton Productions. We have had a number of letters regarding Hi-Rev, to update you, we have listened to the fans and are changing the format to more of a performance type show. The show will feature more how to type segments where our hosts will be installing and demonstrating products for imports from performance to styling. We will also be going to various events and reporting on them. I think you will be pleased with the changes. Thanks again for the input. Tony D'Amico J SPEC SilEighty 09-12-2002, 03:06 PM Now that sounds like more of a show that I would like to watch shadowz 09-12-2002, 04:26 PM i got the automated email you did, but they havn't personally replied back to me yet... GTR240sx 09-13-2002, 01:26 AM one thing i would like to see more about is, besides more go than show, is anything but a honda. i mean my god a civic is a freaking civic. wow it has rims and a hood...why it has a new grill...gay it has a silvia front end or even a bmw front end. lets see some nissans, wrx's, mitsubs (not ecplise...F & F over glorified them), how about supras, mr2's, and rx7's. something more than a civic. but anyways i hope that what those guys emailed back is true...that they are going to make a change...they need new reporters badly...get rid of the blonde chick she belongs in a porno cuz she acts stupid and shows that she doesnt know the difference between 205/45 tires or 210/40 tires. so drop her and get someone with some personality and not some card readers. shadowz 09-13-2002, 04:12 PM Originally posted by GTR240sx one thing i would like to see more about is, besides more go than show, is anything but a honda. i mean my god a civic is a freaking civic. wow it has rims and a hood...why it has a new grill...gay it has a silvia front end or even a bmw front end. lets see some nissans, wrx's, mitsubs (not ecplise...F & F over glorified them), how about supras, mr2's, and rx7's. something more than a civic. but anyways i hope that what those guys emailed back is true...that they are going to make a change...they need new reporters badly...get rid of the blonde chick she belongs in a porno cuz she acts stupid and shows that she doesnt know the difference between 205/45 tires or 210/40 tires. so drop her and get someone with some personality and not some card readers. i agree...the hosts are all total morons. shadowz 09-15-2002, 11:33 PM i'm watching the new hi-rev for this week....they just said they've shown alot of hondas in the past and are going to show us alot of imports from other companies too in the future...started out with a nissan sentra... shadowz 09-15-2002, 11:51 PM hmm...the trivia question was what is the 240sx known as in Japan. at least they got the answer right this time GTR240sx 09-16-2002, 12:02 AM another piece of crap...that all is what the "new" hi rev tuners show is all about. they started off with a nissan sentra with a sr20 motor (i dont know too much about them) but the guy had no clue on what the motor was all about. and then they concentraded more on the stereo than what makes that car tick. then they went to the bullshit is300 which is no different than the one here...and the girl was all happy that they guy added the plastic sticker that said "altezza". big fucking wow. well then they had to top it all off with another ricer civic that had a is300 fornt end. more and more bullshit is piling up. so if this is the new direction that the show is going...it is horrible...say goodbye to the reporters...PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shadowz 09-16-2002, 12:11 AM i think they make it up as they go along. seriously. especially the guy. he's always stuttering or stumbling about what he's going to say. one more thing i noticed...the blonde chick got into a car(don't remember what it was)...it had 2 gauges on the A pillar and a monster tach on the dash right below them and she says "these three tachs take care of monitoring the engine" GTR240sx 09-16-2002, 09:22 AM yeah i remember that...the car was an is300...actually the car i was talking about before...how she was so excited because the guy added a the sticker "altezza" to the car to make it more JDM. bullshit bullshit dbiggss 09-16-2002, 09:31 AM that show is garbage garbage garbage:apuke: they did have a couple nice cars though. but I am in agreement with everyone on the issue of the hosts being complete and total morons:silly2: . especially that guy he sounds like he's never even looked at a car before and never graduated third grade. I'll tell you what though the NSX powered rwd CRX they showed for like 2 seconds at the very end was badass. I bet that bitch can move. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
