Local Car Show, Sorry No Racing... But Cool Cars!-The Stig- 09-08-2002, 11:28 PM Today was the Annual Car Show here in Long Beach. IT WAS AWESOME! I just have to say there were about 200 cars that showed up and there were all gorgeous! the type of cars that attended ranged from old t-buckets with a variety of power plants from original motors to.. Twin Supercharged 350 Chevys. Yes I said Twin Supercharged! There were tons of Classic Muscle cars some all original.. and some that ment business, 96% of the Muscle cars that attended would whipe the floor with most of our cars. Which pisses me off! Damn them middle aged men with their high paying jobs so they can afford such things like GAS and.. Big Block Motors! There were also tons of 50's and 60's classic cars from every make you can think of fully restored. Also there were about 10 to 14 DeTomaso Pantera's. Along with a Ferrari 355 Spider and a Ferrari 550 Maranellooo. Only 1 Viper showed, who i know the owner of... bastard gloats to me about how it does a 140mph in 4th gear. He doesnt need to rub it in! The weird thing about this show, not a single Ricer showed. But one company which had a both had a Toyota Celica GTS in the both with its product name all over it. I dont really consider it rice, cause it was just some car they put they're name on. (I dont know why not, it is after all a CAR show) Today was great, classics all over... NHRA funny cars, Dale Erndhart's car from the 93-94 NASCAR season, Prostock Cars of every make. Yeah, sorry for no Racing story... but i just had to tell some of you what went down in my part of the world... hope your sunday was as good as mine. DeViL 09-08-2002, 11:52 PM Thats how it is on Fridays at Sams Club. A lot of old cars, some even from the 40's and 50s. Really cool sometimes we will get some eye catchers that everyone circles around. My truck doesn't get much attention lol I still pull her in there though. Grendel 09-09-2002, 01:23 AM Sounds like a lot of fun... Hows a twin supercharged car work? I can see the point of twin turbos on a v8, but twin superchargers? Wouldn't that sap even more power than using 1 supercharger? *shrugs* -Grendel street_racer_00 09-09-2002, 02:22 AM Hey Redneck, did you get a chance to tow your nova to the show? haha j/k I should quit picking on you, novas are great classic muscle cars. Can't say my sunday was as thrilling as yours. Grendel 09-09-2002, 03:21 AM Originally posted by street_racer_00 Hey Redneck, did you get a chance to tow your nova to the show Yea, did you fix that transmission problem? I never saw a thread on you fixing it or buying a new one or whatever... -Grendel -The Stig- 09-09-2002, 08:47 PM as for Twin Superchargers... it works wonders! i dont see how you can think of it robbing of power when it adds like 60% more horsepower. I'll gladly take a 1hp deduction if it gives me another 100... Oh neato i just got 99hp! hehe As for towing my car, no i didnt tow it. Didnt want to even look at it this weekend. As for fixing my transmission... Nope, its still broken and i've got the money to buy the new tranny (yay) but i'll probably use it to take a HUGE chunk out of my truck payment which will more or less pay it off. With out a truck payment i can regain that money extremely fast, so im not worried about it. Not to mention the Nova sits on a jack, for some reason the right rear went flat. A new tire too! which really pisses me off... it must not of been installed correctly.. it might be the stem valve might of been pinched or something i dunno i cant really get close to see it. That side of the car is next to the bushes and fence. Horah for me. yet another problem i have to deal with. I swear this car is going to be then end of me. Oh how I have said that so many times (most recent was breaking the stem valve at the bottom of the radiator for the tranny lines.) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
