Ok, first of all, i looked all over for that one writeup about how a bov works and showed the diagram, but i couldnt find it, or anything else that could help me. also, im sorry if this is the wrong place for this question.

ok, i have a greddy type s bov. the recirculation hose, ok, no problem there. then there is a small vaccuum line coming from the other side, that goes to the intake manifold. then there is a third outlet coming off the bovthat didnt get connected to anything. does anyone know what that third outlet is for?

Hmm, I have never seen a BOV with two vacuum connections on it... Also, I like your drawing. lol

thanks, i make all my own lol.

you can see one just like it at clipsekid's website. go to engine/performance and scroll down to the picture of his bov recirculation pipe. you can see, right under the top vaccuum hose, a second one. mine looks exactly the same.

Doesn't look like his is connected to anything either... I would think it has to be though or else that would be one nasty boost leak.

you can run a line from a positive boost (ICP or turbo outlet) all it does is open the BOV quicker between shifts, the 1g bov has this built in aswell IIRC it opens the BOV faster then blocking it, but also opens it longer... mine is pluged...

you can see the Red cap i put on it in this pic if you look closely.

without that outlet capped off, is that a boost leak or anything? would it make a difference if its plugged or not?

i dont belive so. only when the BOV is open, and its such a small amount, it wont make a difference, the only way you would be able to see it is with a wideband o2... it would dip a tiny bit, not enough to matter... if my BOV didnt come with the cap, i would just have it open... so either way... but if your worried about it, get a short vac hose, and thread a screw into it to block it. honestly its nothing to worry about.

Yeah you don't have to worry about capping it.
