We bought a 1994 jeep grand cherokee laredo automatic, we have transmission problem, sometimes when your driving down the road it will shift down like its in neutral, if you actually put it in neutral and put it back into drive it will shift out and go on for awhile and then do it again at times and at times not. has anyone else had this problem, the transmission doesnt slip or anything its like it forgets what it is doing. Im not even sure what transmission this has we been trying to find one but every one we find is a different one from ours. any help would be appreciated. its got a straight six in it

What engine do you have?
Does the 'O/D OFF' light come on when this happens?
