Just replaced the starter in my 90 K1500 and whenever you turn the ignition to start the starter goes and goes and goes. I take the key out still going I have to unhook the battery cable to get it to stop. Can someone PLEASE help me..

was this ever a problem BEFORE you replaced the starter? If not, then chances are there is a short in the starter, and you need to take it back and get a new one. if this was a problem, then chances are something in your ignition switch is FUBAR.

No the only problem before was that it turned really slow. I just finished completly rebuilding the engine and decided to reolace the starter also. When I first hooked up the starter I put the little wire on the "R" post wich is the wrong post do you think that may have shorted the starter?

very well could have. If the starter is new though, DON'T tell them that....just tell them it won't stop running.
