Okay, im sure the answer to this question can be a million different things but im gettn pissed here. I change my oil every 2000 miles, never see any oil drips on the driveway or anywhere. I usually burn like half a quart every time its time for me to change the oil.

Anything I should check/change when i change the oil next?

check your compression. if you're burning oil it's most likely your rings are getting fried and you're leaking in small amounts of oil into the combustion camber.

Could be because it's leaking into the cylinders and getting burned up when you drive. This is what I would think is happening since you're not leaking oil on the ground when parked.

She only has 52K....still possible for the rings to go bad with such low miles?

Yea, but the previous owner (1st and only owner of it b4 me) took crazy good care of this car. Had all papers for oil changes etc. Some older guy.

yea think thats bad, yesterday, around 2000 miles after my last change, the oil level didn't read on my dipstick. i made an emergency purchase of 2qts and filled my poor thirsty baby up. it sucks bad because i dunno why either. why would rings fry? i'm at 92k miles (damn last year at this time it was 79k)

Do a compression test!! that way you'll know if your rings are bad. after that, do a leak down test to find out where the oil is going.

no, you need a compression tester. let me explain what it looks like. it's a gauge with a little hose that connects where your spark plugs are at(you have to take out the plugs first). i don't have a pix so hopefully that helps. it doesn't cost much either and would be a good investment if you plan on doing other things to your car. oh yeah, and if you do buy one and do the test yourself, remember to take out the ecu fuse before you do the test.

just to add my two sense, when ur drivin check to see if ur blowin blueish color smoke out the exhaust then youll definetly know ur burnin oil:smoka:

what if there's none? and oil level still decreases?-

compression and leak down tests are your best bet for finding the source of your lost oil. other than that you can look at your whole engine from the outside to make sure you are not leaking anywhere. check around the oil filter or anywhere else around the back of the the block. if it leaks out there, it will most likey burn off before it hits the ground, especialy at as slow of a rate as you are losing it.

yea i agree wit b16asol check around the whole engine for traces of oil cuz thats the only thing else i can think of check around where the head and block meet up also. If its not blowin smoke out the back then it shouldnt be burning its prolly jus leakin.good luck i wish i had more info to tell u.peace :bandit:

u prolly already did this but check ur oil pan nut to see if the seal is bad on it or if the nut itself isnt tight.peace :smoker2:
