supercharged 3.8 from GTP in 98-02 camaro

Will a supercharged 3.8 from a 97+ Grand Prix GTP swap into a 98-02 camaro? I was under the impression that the 3.8 block is the same in both cars. Offhand the only big issue with the swap might be hood clearance, but an aftermarket hood should take care of that. I'm sure others on the sight can offer some insight on why this can or can't be done.

FWD motor won't fit so well into a RWD car.
I don't believe those two 3.8 blocks are the same either.

I know there is another thread here on that had a lot of info on the swap and why its really hard to do. Try searching for it.

I think it would be near impossible to do that swap. You'd be better off trying to supercharge or turbocharge the 3.8 already in the Maro.

I was under the impression that all 3800 series II blocks were the same. From looking at pictures, it looks like the air intake side (this would be against the firewall on RWD) would not clear the firewall and would be too tall for even an aftermarket hood. I guess the fact that it isn't a common swap tells you something about how easy it would be to make it work.

The engines are the same you can put the supercharger from that or the bonneville on your engine. However probably more parts for the air induction may be needed or need to be modified. Clearance would also be an issue my 98 has about 3" from engine to cowl with standard induction. Just trying to put the engine straight in is probably going to be more difficult that getting the supercharger and trying to fit it to your engine. I would be sure to check the bolt patterns as GM has had lots of interchangeable engines and engines parts, however pontiac has always seemed to have something slightly different.
