Removing Rear Seat (97 Cavalier)lethalwordz 10-19-2006, 05:40 PM Hi Guys! I am trying to remove my rear seat (the part that your back rests against and it folds down.) I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier, 2 door. I am trying to install a box for my subwoofers. The box is quite large I had to hammer some metal down, etc to get the measurements right. When the seat is folded down and I try to install the box into the trunk that way it has an extra inch - inch 1/2 because the part of the box rests on the seat that is folded down (the seat has metal humps on the back part) I've tried taking over the rear side panel, but there are 2 bolts in the bottom corners of the seat, and it looks like the seat must come out in order to get the side panels out, haha. I hope you can understand my situation here! Any help would be great! Thanks a ton, Mark MrR0b0t0 10-19-2006, 09:35 PM Umm I dont fully understand your situation, but I know how to take out the back part. If you take the lower cushion of the seat off, there should be a long metal hinge conntected to the floor by two bolts. Unscrew the bolts and pull up the hinge (which is what the backrest is connected to) and wala, no more back of the seat. Im not sure about the bolts on the side your talking bout, Pictures would probably help. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
