New Lancer ES - Did I get a good deal?GenUrko 09-07-2002, 09:04 PM I did something I rarely do and bought a car without a lot of price shopping last week. I purchased the 2002 Lancer Sedan ES with ES Convenience Package (2.0L 4cyl 4A). The MSPR was $15,247 and $545 Destination/Handling. Making total $15,792 since I wanted the No Payments One Year and than 5 years/60 month to pay afterwards (I will refinance come next September). The dealer came back with "THE BEST HE COULD DO" at $15,759. I for some reason trusted this person. This was purchased in New Jersey. I get home and read advertisements about all these different rebates, etc. I see that I should have qualified for something but signed the papers and had the car already. What do you think? Did I get decent deal? The car is definitely nice. Your input is appreciated. The costs I gave does not include sales tax. But by going lower than MSPR he told me 'they were giving it away' to me. Yeah, right. Nothing is for free so I am no idiot. evo_andy 09-19-2002, 11:06 PM hm... yah i juss got my ES Lancer... on sale =) paid 14500 out tha door wit tax and everything, so i don't think it wuz too bad. I don't like tha OZ tho... i mean... all that extra money for some rims, gauges, and yada yada badge... prolly tha only good thing about it is tha yellow paint job u can get wit it... but i mean, big whoop, i like my ES, and i saved a lot of money by not goin OZ which leaves me wit a gripload of cash to do my own mods. LaNcErEs 10-04-2002, 11:47 PM Yea, good deal, I got mine (non-oz..due to the price difference) for just under 14K its an ES with keyless remote, floor mats, the works, getting a stock wing..and thinking about 15's or 16's for rims... 3-5 spoke. Brand new car, not some cheapy used. It is a 2002 though, even though 2003 are out. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
