Have massive oil leak coming from tioming chain housing. My ques. is this: Is the only way oil can leak out from there (no matter whats going on inside the timing chain housing) is through the front cover gaskets, the timing cover seal, the cam seal, or the lower timing cover outer gasket? I had engine cranked without cover on and oil came out at a good rate from tensioner access hole which should drain back into crankcase. New seals and outer gasket but timing cover gaskets were replaced last summer and are made of rubber and looked brand new so didn't replace them. Also can find no sign of leaking around them but oil being thrown up almost to top of motor and especially all over bottom of timing chain cover and lower engine.Valve cover gaskets all new and not leaking. Damn motor mount makes checking anything over that side of eng. a major labor hassel. What to do to fix leak:banghead:

So, it has to be you forgot something,
or the gasket you reused is bad, even tho it looks OK.
That crankseal needs replaced if you didnt and even some of teh blots are to be replced.

Hopefull that'll help.

In case anyone is following this post I cleaned all oil off timing cover area and started car and checked for leak. It took a moment but no leak around cover or around timing cover crankshaft seal but then saw oil gathering in triangular area where motor mount attaches to block and could see a steady drop hitting the puddle from above and landing there. Can't tell if it is coming from behind TCHousing or from inner TC cover gasket which is new gasket but is large amount of oil dripping down.No leak around valve cover gasket. Only thing there is TCHousing cam gasket to cam housing or inner timing cover gasket. So much oil though I will have to remove motor mount to check it closer. What a pain.
