My buddies 2001 has an obsticle warning. It turns off when the gear shift is placed in drive or reverse, and i cant get it to sound at all. Also it is difficult to get the light on the button to go off at all.

hte system turns off when a problem is detected - have seen a lot of sensor problems - they are easy to replace just need to find out what one is going bad (probably a dealer diag)
