Amazing work on the details, i love the little roof with the attachment wire, the steel winch, the gorgeous weathering! You wouldn't by any chance know why they cut the rear fenders off in real life? Just wondering Oli Dean23 10-18-2006, 09:56 PM Wow man thats crazy awesome. GHood work sofar, cant wait to see this all done, just need some blood smears and a dead whitetail or moose in the back! white97ex 10-18-2006, 11:30 PM great work as always james shifty217 10-18-2006, 11:51 PM Cool build James. Al JTRACING 10-19-2006, 12:42 PM Thanks guys! Well Hunting Jeep wouldn’t be complete with out a rifle. So I made one from aluminum tubing and a popsicle stick. http://content.bolt.com/uploads3/photo/6/2/3/6/5/9/623659/large/1161275751346.jpg Wow, that is pretty amazing weathering. Can you please give a little insight on how you achieved the rusty look? Al I use rust color pastels. willimo 10-19-2006, 02:46 PM Looking most excellent! Very nice details and scratchwork. I like how it's subtly done, not over the top. Extremely realistic. quadzero 10-19-2006, 06:19 PM Great work on this. The extra little touches really add life to this. The rifle is excellent as is the gear in the back. Quite a different direction from the fantastic nascar builds you usually show us. JTRACING 10-20-2006, 01:55 PM thanks guys!, Here is the fuel cans. i made new "leather" straps for them. http://content.bolt.com/uploads6/photo/6/2/3/6/5/9/623659/large/1161366796115.jpg Flea 10-20-2006, 02:21 PM looks good i think! .. maybe a little nick or two in the body from a tree limb ... heck i would drive that to work every day .. forget hunting! D_LaMz 10-20-2006, 09:45 PM looks great! willimo 10-21-2006, 12:30 AM Where did you find the 1:24 jerry cans? deltableh 10-21-2006, 03:18 AM I love the hunting rifle! JTRACING 10-21-2006, 01:01 PM another update! http://content.bolt.com/uploads6/photo/6/2/3/6/5/9/623659/large/1161449879080.jpg http://content.bolt.com/uploads6/photo/6/2/3/6/5/9/623659/large/1161449877537.jpg http://content.bolt.com/uploads6/photo/6/2/3/6/5/9/623659/large/1161449875644.jpg Where did you find the 1:24 jerry cans? those come in the kit, and the bottom "tray" is molded onto them... you can get some cool ones in the Fujimi garage tools kit also! Flea 10-21-2006, 02:00 PM very nice touch with the duct tape and the birt s*&t hehe Macdaddy4738 10-21-2006, 02:04 PM Wow! Amazing work on the details, i love the little roof with the attachment wire, the steel winch, the gorgeous weathering! You wouldn't by any chance know why they cut the rear fenders off in real life? Just wondering Oli The rear fenders on a CJ are plastic trim pieces I believe, same with the front beyond the turn signal. They generally take the trim pieces off to cut the body tub to allow large tires to be used. Flea 10-21-2006, 02:14 PM the 'fenders' were added on mostly to cover the tires .. so that the jeep would be legal in all states .. some stats (tho it is rarely enforced) have laws that require the tires to be covered by the body (not exact wording) and a jeep without those little peices of plastic has tires that stick out past the sheet metal a little bit ... alakai 10-21-2006, 02:23 PM That err.... paint (or lackthereof) looks great. Your attention to the little details is amazing. The only suggestion I could make would be regarding the front fenders. As stated earlier, they were black plastic and would weather differently than the rest of the steel body, unless they were meant to be painted that way by the owner as "camoflage". Can't wait to see more. :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
