1999 Beetle Throttle Valvemidrange 10-17-2006, 07:48 PM Hey.. The car had a dead battery for 4+ months. Its been sitting.. For a while. Its a 99 with only 80 000 KMS on it, so it didn't drive much. After we recharged the battery and tested it, we put it back in and the car would not start.. It would start then stall immediately. Just keeps doing this. We took it to VW and they put it on the computer and it came up with the code for the Throttle Valve is faulty and getting weak signal. Has anyone had this problem before. Also, is it hard to change the Thottle Valve myself to save myself the time and labor.... Thanks Brian midrange 10-17-2006, 08:01 PM ok.. did some more research on this problem. Could VW be taking me for a ride here.. SO far every problem like this that i have had, has been a minute fix and it all had to do with the throttle adjustment.. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=494562 <--- my problem anyone ever changed the throttle valve? Could it be faulty even though it was just sitting there? How come mine needs to be replaced when all the threads related to this problem was just an adjustment... Just want to get answers so i don't get VW to replace it when its not needed. veedubmechanic 10-20-2006, 04:50 PM throttle body isnt hard to replace.
