VSV Cleaning, quick!

Took out the VSV for EVAP, wich is the one under the air duct near the air filter box because it sometimes made machinegun clicking sounds and my CEL is on for a P446.
There was a thread on that but not much details. Is it possible to clean a VSV? And what should I use? Carb cleaner?

Never messed with it but, I would use brake cleaner. Doesn't leave a film.
