Car insurance ratesstreet_racer_00 09-06-2002, 05:18 PM I'm so pissed off. I got my renewal notice from state farm insurance today and for some odd reason they decided to hike my insurance rates up 27 percent. No, I have not been in any accidents or had any speeding tickets. Yes, I am 18 or older. So instead of paying like 680 for a 6 month term like I was before, I am now gonna be paying over a grand. What the hell is up with this bullshit!?!?!?!? It's even 15 percent higher than when I first had my license and my car was brand new!! MadZ 09-06-2002, 07:39 PM Originally posted by street_racer_00 Yes, I am 18 or older. Are you not sure how old you are?:hehehe: j/k yeah man, your getting ripped off. I'm paying about $1,300 every 6 months as the primary driver and I have several speeding tickets still on my record. You might want to check around and see what other deals you can find. street_racer_00 09-06-2002, 07:57 PM do you have comprehensive or liability? Marc-OS 09-06-2002, 09:38 PM Don't complain I've been paying $1,200 every six months since I was 16 (I'm only 17 now), and I've got no tickets and no accidents. I paid $1,200 every six months when I had my Delorean, and now that I don't have the Delorean, I pay the same amount for a CRX! WTF, I pay the same amount for a rare sports car, and an econobox Honda CRX, wtf is up with that? -The Stig- 09-07-2002, 03:39 AM dang i only pay $1100 a Year for insurance. Thats for only one vehicle though, the nova is non opted right now. for a lone time it went unnoticed, and all it cost me was an extra $10 a month. but they caught on and decided to DOUBLE my insurance, so i said screw you! and non oppted the Nova. So i cant legally drive it right now. When shes ready i'll reinstate her or i have a better paying job. TerminalVelocity 09-07-2002, 06:37 AM i'm getting boinked in the ass too 1134 every 6 months. 1 accident big reason newer 2 door v8 Also I have full coverage so obviously it isnt going to be cheep. street_racer_00 09-07-2002, 02:39 PM I think it has to do with the fact that I'm a male. Ahhhh yes, reverse sexism, the great equalizer. Everyone knows those damn broads can't drive, and they cause more accidents driving their volkswagen cabrio at the speed limit than the criminally-negligent billy bob does driving his chevy nova SS dragging from stoplight to stoplight. Why this load of crap about how males are more dangerous drivers than female drivers continues, I don't know. The fact is, the reason females seem to wreck their cars are because of being a stupid, idiotic driver, while males seem to wreck their cars because of pushing themselves too far over the limit, the former of which occours more often than the latter. 94svt5.0 09-07-2002, 05:12 PM Im also paying a good bit more then I should. With full coverage Im paying around $800 every 6 months and Im 22 years old. No tickets either(that they know about). Somebody, somewhere is lining their pockets. street_racer_00 09-07-2002, 05:19 PM Originally posted by 94svt5.0 Im also paying a good bit more then I should. That's what I WAS paying.:p That is actually pretty good considering you drive a relatively new hot rod. I'm paying about 400 bucks more than that and I just drive a family sedan:D Who is your insurance carrier? 94svt5.0 09-07-2002, 05:28 PM Originally posted by street_racer_00 That's what I WAS paying.:p That is actually pretty good considering you drive a relatively new hot rod. My insurance actually dropped $300 every 6 months when I switched from my previous 1995 mustang v6 to my cobra. Supposedly they base rates on stats, more v6 mustangs in wrecks because of the age group driving them. Then with the cobra, that has an average age of drivers being 40-50  . Cbass 09-07-2002, 10:04 PM Ah, thank god for government monopoly insurance prices... Here in beautiful British Columbia, I would have pay $1400 a year with collision and comprehensive... That's Canadian too, so it would work out to something like $900 US -The Stig- 09-08-2002, 12:42 AM Originally posted by street_racer_00 criminally-negligent billy bob does driving his chevy nova SS dragging from stoplight to stoplight. ... why that sounds like me... what are you trying to say??? :D street_racer_00 09-08-2002, 10:40 AM Originally posted by RedNeck383 ... why that sounds like me... what are you trying to say??? :D Hey now redneck, you and I know that isn't true.....you don't have an SS:D. -The Stig- 09-08-2002, 05:50 PM Originally posted by street_racer_00 Hey now redneck, you and I know that isn't true.....you don't have an SS:D. I know.. i know... *looks at the Nova* WHY CANT YOU BE MORE LIKE AN SS! ... no dont break something!... i love you car!... wait let me go get some octane booster!!! things will be ok! its almost like being married to a woman. Polygon 09-08-2002, 08:37 PM Damn, that is what I was paying when I was 17 with a 1985 Jeep Wagoneer. I was only paying about $100 per month on the LeBaron. BlkCamaroSS 09-08-2002, 09:30 PM Damn fellas, some of you guys are getting raped. If I were y'all, I'd start searching for a better insurance company. I'm paying a little over $700 a year on my car, the SS. I'm 22, never had a wreck, one speeding ticket that was fixed (so the insurance company never knew), and that's it. If you come close to that, might want to start looking around. No use in paying out the ass...I'm with American Family, maybe try that as a start... Cbass 09-08-2002, 09:31 PM Originally posted by street_racer_00 Hey now redneck, you and I know that isn't true.....you don't have an SS:D. That was low man. I thought you were above comments like that. fatninja19 09-08-2002, 09:34 PM yea.. lets stop the hate and embrace motoring... 94svt5.0 09-08-2002, 10:41 PM Originally posted by BlkCamaroSS Damn fellas, some of you guys are getting raped. BlkCamaroSS 09-08-2002, 11:01 PM Yup, full coverage. street_racer_00 09-09-2002, 02:03 AM yeah yeah yeah, go ahead guys, yuck it up, just keep bragging about how you are paying 1/3 of what I'm paying for a faster car:D. I won't let it bother me.....really, I won't.............ERRRRR GOD DAMNED STATE FARM SHOULD BURN IN HELL FOR RIPPING ME OFF!!!!! okay I'm all better now.:D BlkCamaroSS 09-09-2002, 10:03 AM So, are you gonna start shopping around for another insurance company, or are you gonna keep bending over and taking it up the ass? street_racer_00 09-09-2002, 05:47 PM Well when I turn 20, I probably am, because I think part of it is due to the fact that I am STILL in my teens. Until then, I guess I will have to continue to grab my ankles:D. 94svt5.0 09-09-2002, 08:05 PM Off the subject a second, street racer, how do you post a photo in your profile sig? thanks street_racer_00 09-09-2002, 09:06 PM Originally posted by 94svt5.0 Off the subject a second, street racer, how do you post a photo in your profile sig? thanks From what I remember, you have to put in the URL for the picture you want in your sig using the vB code (i.e. putting and around the URL.) street_racer_00 09-09-2002, 09:10 PM Originally posted by street_racer_00 From what I remember, you have to put in the URL for the picture you want in your sig using the vB code (i.e. putting and around the URL.) whoops, putting [ i m g ] and [ / i m g ] around the URL of the pic, without the spaces. 94svt5.0 09-10-2002, 08:14 PM Thanks, got it figured out. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
