Question about Fujimi EVO3

I'm finishing out the Initial D model of the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO III. I bought this model years ago never really thought much of it. Anyways, now that I've had a chance to work on it, it looks funny to me. It's like the body isn't correct. It almost looks like the roof and windows are of an EVO IV-VI design. Anyone else that has built the fujimi version notice this? I thought maybe it just really is like this, but I was comparing it to pics of a real EVO III and the window shape doesn't match. Also, the kit came with EVO IV-VI taillights that aren't used. Kind of makes me wonder if they modified an existing EVO IV mold and gave it EVO III front and rear designs. Is there anyone that can shed some light on this?

It is indeed in the running for Fujimi's worst kit ever made. You are absolutely correct mrceej, they used the evo 5 mold, change the front and rear to match an evo3 (but they couldn't be bothered to change the roof as well) and called it an evo3. An evo3 is suppose to be more narrow and shorter than evo5-9. Hasegawa is the only way to go if you want a proper evo3. Has anyone actually built this? mine is still in the box.

i have built the Hasegawa Evo 3, pic as follows:-

rear end pic of actual car, Evo3 left pic, Evo4 right pic
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/brian.woods93/mitsubishi_lancer_evo3.jpghttp://homepage.ntlworld.com/brian.woods93/mitsubishi_lancer_evo4.jpg

u can see the on the Evo 3 is the lights are rounder, different bonnet louvres, door handles are rounder and the back is totally different, in all a totally different body of the earlier model

the following is the Hasegawa Evo 4:

The Evos span over 3 generations of the Lancer which the Evos are based on. The Evo I, II and III are the WRC homologation versions of the 5th generation Lancer. The IV, V and VI share the same 6th generation Lancer body, and the VII, VIII and IX were derived from the 7th generation Lancer.

So between III and IV, and VI and VII, the kit manufacturers should have changed the tooling of the body-shell completely (not just the obvious changes on the aero parts), and some kits got changed, some didn't.
