RE Amemiya's Stunning Mazda RX-7anopanjo 10-16-2006, 12:42 AM Hello, I Picked up this kit a few weeks ago along with the F&F 350Z which is an alright kit, btw i saw the Lancer at the same time and i almost threw up...its the worst looking kit i have ever seen, everythng is wrong, bodykit lights rims..... Anyway back to the Rx-7, this is the RE-Amemiyas Greddy rx7 made by fujimi, its an alright looking kit but i dont really like the rims and have no idea were to get some from. also i test fited some things and the suspesion sits very high. The quality is quite nice and didnt have to do alot of sanding on the body, although some parts had some extra plastic hanging of :( These pics are a little old and i will post my updated progeess asap. Im going to do an Mazda Rx-7 R1 tamiya so i can get the engine from it but i cant seem to find one, if some1 could leed me in the right direction to the kit or engine, or trade wateva. Mostly box stock but might do some cool things for the interior, only thing i added was a big performance muffler which is my first. I hope you all like. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0122.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0121.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0120.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0123.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0124.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0126.jpg Thnx for looking! Il go outside and take some nicer pics. bhop73 10-16-2006, 01:34 AM Looks great so far, but I think your exhaust tip is WAY too big. rod_k2 10-16-2006, 05:08 AM The quality is quite nice and didnt have to do alot of sanding on the body, although some parts had some extra plastic hanging of :( Better extra plastic than having to add some styrene and correct fit and all... Cool project!! Will be a cool one! anopanjo 10-16-2006, 05:41 AM yeh the exhaust is a tad big but the pic makes it look bigger, dont no why. Bout the extra plastic your right i wouldn't want to spend hours sitting there trying to putty up parts. Hope some1 can help me with this but the kit is great i like everythn bout it but i cant get the suspension right as in i dont how the instructions said to but it sites way to high for my likings, you wil al agre aswell, so any ways i can fix this without having a big risk of breaking the parts?? thnx for the comments Pippin1974 10-16-2006, 06:25 AM I'm with bhop73...the exhaust seems to big very big...... Brian Harte 10-16-2006, 12:45 PM Oh is this the GReddy 9 kit? The green car? Amazing vehicle. nugundam93 10-16-2006, 08:04 PM you might wanna scratchbuild huge turbos on it so that you could justify the exhaust. :D no kidding. straight exhaust pipes FTW! D_LaMz 10-17-2006, 12:24 AM I have this and fitment sucks. :( xpeed 10-17-2006, 12:28 AM I have a few extra rims lying around for the RX-7 if you want one? And a couple of C-West GT Wings http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/xpeed/rims.jpg anopanjo 10-17-2006, 03:37 AM hey thnx for the comments, i'l go with you all and loose the exhaust now that im coming to terms with it it does seem a tad to big, im really annoyed with the kit. everythn is nice but the ride height and the rims, the rims are to small and they dont site in the midle of the wheel arch and i have done nothn wrong....and the ride height is realy realy high. il take a pic of the ride height to show you all and hope i can get some help on it. Thnx Enzoenvy1 10-17-2006, 11:04 AM Holy Coffee Can Batman!!!!!!!!!!!1 hirofkd 10-17-2006, 12:18 PM hey thnx for the comments, i'l go with you all and loose the exhaust now that im coming to terms with it it does seem a tad to big, im really annoyed with the kit. everythn is nice but the ride height and the rims, the rims are to small and they dont site in the midle of the wheel arch and i have done nothn wrong....and the ride height is realy realy high. il take a pic of the ride height to show you all and hope i can get some help on it. Thnx Fujimi's FD kits are using the part derived from their generic Nissan chassis; that's why they sit too high, especially the front. I've corrected four of them, and it's becoming a routine work. All you need are a short section of brass rod, the corresponding size of drill bit and a pin-vice (and some styrene and glue). You shorten the shocks by 1.0 - 1.5 mm (depending on your tire/wheel size), and insert a metal rod as a reinforcement. Then, raise the k-member assembly by cutting away the areas that are glued to the chassis, or add a piece of plastic at the tip of the A-arms to fill the gap caused by the shortened shocks. The former method works on all types of wheels, but the latter method is only good for larger wheel sizes, otherwise the a-arm will interfere with the inner wheel wall. Do some test fitting. Two of my FD used the former method, while one was the latter. But for true accuracy, you have to flip the brade disk/caliper parts, because the calipers are in the wrong direction. So, for the forth FD kit, I flipped the left and right shocks, adjusted the camber and toe angles, and made a room for the steering rod to go through by cutting away a significant portion of the K-member and chassis. All that are relatively easy tasks to do, and I only took a few hours to complete. anopanjo 10-18-2006, 06:50 AM Ok here are my updates, i finishd the suspension, thats how it sits. all i did was cut of a few mills of the suspension and bent the axle and for the rear i just cut of the bit were the model slots into and made a new 1 which was lower, if u understand that.... Anyway here is wat i have done, nothn is glue as in windows spiler etc, but the chassis is fully done and i will start with the interior next, ideas for exterior colour im thinking maybe a mica blue of some sort or green like the box art?? sorry for the image quality just i had to use old camera. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/Picture001.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/Picture002.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/Picture003.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/Picture004.jpg Thnx for looking! xpeed 10-18-2006, 01:35 PM Looking nice, a nice set of Yokohamas TC-II will look good on that car. anopanjo 10-19-2006, 07:25 AM yeh il have a look, were is the best place to look or i saw some nice rims u had if u wana talk bout trading if so ano_theman@hotmail.com (xpeed) For the interior u think i should leave it sorta street oob stock or go with a more race/drift style with racing seat, wheel, tachos n roll cage etc...?? wat you think? Im thinking a silver/black interior or black/blue? xpeed 10-20-2006, 12:12 AM Yeah, the rims that I'm planning to sell you are the eight on the left. anopanjo 10-22-2006, 07:19 AM Soz for the late reply but here is the latest progress, i have decided to add in a motor but im sorry but its a supra one, im waiting for the critisism lol but meh its a motor hahaha and a fast one, its only because i had it lying round and saved me from going out and buying anther rx7 kit... Any way done mot the engine just gota glue most parts in and finish wiring the rest. The interior which you might get a glympse of isn't all that done just abit of a mock up, as u saw it is white and include a black and silver racing seat or red. Nos bottles(its a street car) T.V, subs, PS2 and a few more goodies...... Here it is, also if u see blue tac its just to hold it together for the photos becuase it aint yet glued. Last of all what colour are we all thinking for the body???? im maybe thinking of a mica blue or something?? maybe a mice dark green like the one it comes as? http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0179.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0178.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0177.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0176.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0175.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0174.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/IMG_0173.jpg Thanks for looking! Mr. Me. 10-22-2006, 09:57 AM May be you will took pic`s with out flash? andrew landon 10-22-2006, 10:33 AM how about blood red? very cool none the less. REXtreme7 11-07-2006, 08:24 AM This Kit was a complete dog so I didnt bother finishing it properly. I just stuffed Some TE37s in 19" on it and it looked OK. I have over 20 FD RX7s ( no two the same ) but the Fujimi Greddy9 and the R-Spec Kits are terrible. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c349/rextreme/IMGP6877.jpg anopanjo 11-08-2006, 01:08 AM yeh this one didnt work out at all, everything was fine until i started to work on the body and when a gust of wind came it knocked it of and ruined the whole body work, couldnt complete the window trims as they were stuffed of paint etc. Also the bodyhad many imperfections onit aswell...Might one day just sand it all back and repaint it...or just use itfor spare parts, Oh i might show some pics later to show you the disaster lol. Thnx for looking anyway! Raceman 11-08-2006, 09:15 PM Sorry to hear that, spray some oven cleaner or use brake fluid to get rid of the paint, that will save you sanding. anopanjo 11-09-2006, 12:47 AM alright then, how do i use the oven cleaner just spray on it then wipe it of?? anopanjo 11-09-2006, 12:48 AM alright then, how do i use the oven cleaner? anopanjo 11-09-2006, 01:07 AM ok then, i will use oven cleaner, but how do i do the process of removing it.?thnx rod_k2 11-09-2006, 02:56 AM Ohh...+1 to oven cleaner! I'm just strippin' my countach! Get some Easy off, your model,a pair of gloves, and an plastic bag. Wear the gloves, and put the model on the plastic bag. Spray the model with the easy off, close the bag (with the model into it!) and let it strip. After some hours(4 or more i think),try wiping off the paint with one of your gloved fingers. If it strips easily, clean the model with an toothbrush, water and soap. But clean it a lot!! If you don't clean it right, next paint will be f**ked up. But first of all, paint an sprue from the same model, with the same color. And do the same process. Just to see if the oven cleaner don't crazen the plastic. Good luck man! anopanjo 11-09-2006, 03:03 AM alright il hit it asap, are you talking about easy of bam?? is that the same thing?? thnx mate! oh and btw my window seals are screwed are they fixe able with a blade?? rod_k2 11-09-2006, 06:16 AM Hmmm...Does the easy of bam that you are talking about is an kind of oven cleaner? If it is,yes,it should hit the spot or something near. About the window seals, you can fix them with a blade, depending how they are. Or even make new ones with masking tape and paint again. How are your window seals? Can you post a pic of them?? Rodolfo KTem 11-09-2006, 07:05 AM You're all talking about oven cleaner and how it strips paint off, but in my expirience it doesn't work at all. I have a model in Mr. Muscle oven cleaner right now, which has been in it for weeks. The paint won't come off, tho. You might have better luck with 97% alcohol, but it's expensive and comes in useless little bottles. anopanjo 11-10-2006, 01:24 AM alrighty, i realised that the paint doesnt come of, if the paint has been painted for a while cos i did some tests and fresh paint comes right of where old paint doesnt. So i sanded it back a bit then primed the body to find the imperfections. Now that i have found them i will sand back then reapply the primer then i will be done. Luckily there is a spare bumper and the hood is ok! i will post pics of window seals wen i get some time tnite, thnx for the help! anopanjo 11-10-2006, 01:49 AM Ok well i just used my old camera and showed you how it stands atm! its just primed up with the new bumper and hood! bear in mind that it aint sanded so it doesnt look like much and you can see all the imperfections which i will fix! but just to get the feel of how it looks and the window trim, help pls help! Heres the pics... http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/Picture001-1.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/Picture002-1.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/Picture003-1.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a358/anopanjo/Picture004-1.jpg Hope you get the feel for it...btw might go with the candy green for the colour! thnx for looking vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
