Batteries run down in 1-2 days2shus 10-15-2006, 09:18 PM I have a 98 E-350 Club wagon with a PSD and the batteries will run clear down in 24 -36 hours. I have tried pulling all the fuses one at a time and the current draw is still there. It is getting to be pretty annoying. Any ideas?? rhandwor 10-16-2006, 08:10 PM Remove the fuses for interior lights. Take a 12Volt test light and disconnect the ground at the battery. Connect the end of the wire to the battery cable. Pull one fuse at a time if the light lights when touching the battery neg. this is the circuit with the problem. The interior lights have a timer and you have to wait until it shuts down to test this circuit. The old fords with external regulator the regulator would ground internally and was the main problem area. Some times you have to disconnect the alternator and tape up the ends as they can go bad. A lot of times if you watch you can find an interior light or hood light or tailgate light that stays on. They have a more accurate test but this test you should be able to complete. thobac 02-04-2007, 08:46 PM Sounds like the problem I'm having with my 89 Econoline. I thought it was the battery or Alt. I changed both and still don't know what the problem is. I have to jump it every morning. After that it starts up for the rest of the day. What did you find to be the problem with yours? rhandwor 02-05-2007, 07:18 PM Try pulling a relay at night 1 at a time and see if you can find a sticking relay. thobac 02-05-2007, 07:27 PM Although I am very handy. I can't start to find which relay to pull my friend, but thanks for your reply. rhandwor 02-05-2007, 07:39 PM Lay down by the gas tank does the fuel pump shut off. You should have an eec relay around a kick panel right side. thobac 02-05-2007, 07:43 PM HOw would I know if the fuel pump shuts off. Ironically enough I just had a new one put on. thobac 02-05-2007, 07:43 PM HOw would I know if the fuel pump shuts off. Listen when the motor is running then shut off the motor. If the pump keeps running the relay probably is sticking. thobac 02-05-2007, 08:17 PM The pump makes noise when it is running. It makes a wining sound when running. What next? Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2013
